He reportedly got tasered, too.

This is why black people shouldn't do cocaine.
Didn’t Reggie ever see Playmakers?

Yes, but that show, however awesome had many lessons.
Don’t get in a fight with your wife and slightly give her push her while she’s going apeshit on you.
Don’t have unprotected sex with random models.
Don’t hold the ball out before you score a TD (DeSean Jackson, Leon Lett).
Don’t play games while on drugs.
Don’t trust an abusive O-coordinator just because he knows the WCO.
Don’t miss a kick if you’re a kicker, you’re likely to get fired.
If you’re an aging RB, don’t give your team a reason to draft another RB in the first round, he’s likely to take your job, no matter how much of a screwup he is.
Don’t have a posse, they’re likely to shoot guys at night clubs and bring down your image.
I haven’t watched the show since it aired, am I missing anything?
After reading my comment,
it sounds like I’m calling you gay for writing that comment, which to clarify, I am not. But if that show taught us anything, if you get publicly exposed as gay, your teammates will beat the shit out of you in practice.

I really wish they never cancelled that.
I wonder if you can buy the first season anywhere.

The whole series is on DVD
I know amazon has it, and I’m pretty sure you can get it through Netflix, also
Agreed, it’s a shame ESPN caved and canceled it. I can see why the NFL thought it gave them a bad name, I mean obviously none of that stuff happens under Goodell’s watch … :eyeroll
Of course, I’m still smarting that HBO didn’t keep making 1st & 10.
"Don’t have unprotected sex with random models."
I would kill to have the opportunity to make such a decision.
“Don’t play games while on drugs.”
Wasn’t there a pitcher who threw a no-hitter and later claimed he was on drugs during that game?

that would be....
Bill “The Spaceman” Lee, and the drug was Acid.
I still smile when I hear that one… that’s just plain funny.
Alas, it is always darkest before the dawn, and there is now a new dawning for Washington sports. Believe it!!!

It was Dock Ellis, on LSD.
Per Wikipedia:
“Ellis had been visiting friends in Los Angeles under the impression he had the day off and was still high when his girlfriend told him he had to pitch a game against the Padres that night. Ellis boarded a shuttle flight to the ballpark and threw a no-hitter despite not being able to feel the ball or clearly see the batter or catcher. Ellis claims catcher Jerry May wore reflective tape on his fingers which helped Ellis to see his target. Ellis walked eight, struck out six, and was aided by excellent fielding plays by second baseman Bill Mazeroski and center fielder Matty Alou. During the game, Ellis is reported to have commented to his teammates on the bench between innings that he was pitching a no-hitter, despite the superstition that discourages mentioning a no-hitter while it is in progress. Because the no-hitter was the first game of a double header, Ellis was forced to keep track of the pitch count for the night game.”
Hilarious story.
Is that the light at the end of the tunnel, or the headlights of an oncoming train?
The number of elite athletes who do drugs always surprises me.
But I mean c’mon. Even someone with the minimal amount of restraint should be able to stay away from drugs and altercations with the police for the 3-6 months his agent is trying to get him a contract.
I think this just underscores the reality of addiction.
(or alcoholism, of you prefer). The guy seemingly had every reason to keep his nose clean, yet couldn’t. Maybe he’ll (have to) get some help as a result of this and turn his life around, eventually. I sure loved the guy as a Husky, but it’s becoming more and more obvious that his problem has derailed his career.
Great point here.
It’s the quintessential embodiment of an addiction. There is absolutely no reason that a FA should be getting tasered with cocaine in his pants, and yet it happens.
Bring Your Game, Leave Your Name.
