Bucs sign granite-handed Winslow to highest TE contract in history
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers extended the contract of their newest acquisition, Kellen Winslow Jr., by giving him the biggest contract for a tight end in NFL history.
Winslow, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, agreed to a six-year, $36.1 million deal that includes $20.1 million in guarantees. With incentives, the deal could grow to $42.1 million.

What a crucial blow for Jerramy Stevens
So wait, the Bucs have Alex Smith, Jerramy Stevens, AND Kellen Winslow?
Gruden’s “sign a bunch of QBs” mentality has been replaced with new management’s “sign a bunch of TEs”.
SSR's NFL Fun Fact: Andy Reid is the only coach in the league who uses the pass to set up the pass.

Somewhere, Marcus Pollard is crossing his fingers.

As for granite-handed, wouldn't it be more apt to K2 as
“Brittle-Boned”?

Entirely.
Except for his hands.

Fuck it,
I love me some Winslow. What do you need hands for when you fly past linebackers who are too slow to cover you? I’d jet Carlson out of here in a sec for Winslow. Put him and Sexy Rexy Grossman on the field and they’d (almost) make sweet, incredible magic. I also love him for having the balls to call out the whole Browns organization for the staph infection shit.

WTF.
While Cleveland is a undoubtedly a shithole, I’d much rather have Carlson than Winslow just because he makes Deion Branch look like Ironman. Plus he’s a loudmouth hack.

Sounds like the highest paid TE in NFL History.

Then THAT sounds like the biggest overspending for a TE in NFL history.
There is a major difference between intrinsic value and market price.
The intrinsic value of Winslow is the adjusted value of his contributions during the lifetime of his contract. Obviously somewhat subjective but a value nonetheless that must be accounted for when offering him those bucks.
Market value very simply is the price the market is willing to pay for a player. That being said, Winslow’s market value is very clear (36 million dollars).
however….
Market value and intrinsic value are equal only under conditions of market efficiency, equilibrium, and rational expectations. I don’t believe that it is rational to expect 36 million dollars worth of contributions for a TE that has underachieved thus far in his career, and has moved on to a club whose QB situation is a total state of flux.

The whole speech sounds awkward and forced.
Like the media just told him to act like an idiot and they’d give him $50k, and he took his time thinking of stupid things to say.

For $50k, I'd be a whole lot dumber than that.

Hell, for $50 FLAT I'd be a whole lot dumber than that.
