Walter Jones
Reggie Bush and Marques Colston are one thing, but Walter Jones? His knee has a whole different set of stresses, but he had the same microfracture surgery. The work was done far more laterally -- towards the outside -- than was done with the speedsters. That puts a bit less stress on the repaired area, but also gives a bit less relief for his knees. Jones is at the end of his career, so this kind of Hail Mary type procedure might give him just enough to play a little bit longer. If it doesn't work, well, he'd be on the sidelines anyway. The biggest concern here isn't for Jones, but for Matt Hasselbeck. --Will Carroll

doesn't really say anything we don't already know
After reading this article I don’t know any more about microfracture surgery or the likelihood of Jones’s recovery. Will Carroll is only slightly more informed (if that) than the rest of us when it comes to these matters, so I’m not sure how much weight I would put on his opinion.
Wake me up if and when we get a report from Jones’s doctor. If that report never materializes, I’ll simply wait and see how Walt does in training camp and in the games (once we finally start playing them again).
