Seattle Seahawks Injury Status: Defensive Tackle
Red Bryant: Bryant suffered cartilage damage in his knee at the end of July, 2008 and underwent surgery early in August. He was limited in camp and missed the first three preseason games, but played extensively against Oakland on August 29, and extensively in week one in Buffalo on September 7. Bryant had recovered ahead schedule. He was inactive until week seven but then played through week nine, when a high ankle sprain effectively ended his season. Bryant was healthy and fully participated in mini camp.
Cory Redding: Redding appeared nine times on the NFL injury report in 2008. He was listed as "probable" four times, "questionable" four times, and "out" once with injuries to his hamstring, groin and knee. Redding was placed on injured reserve December 12, 2008. He underwent knee surgery variously described as a "clean up" and "not reconstructive". Scuttlebutt is that Redding's knee injury was severe enough that his dropping weight and moving to end is at least in part out of necessity. He was in and out of mini camp and seen icing both knees.

trades are trades
Neither player in the trade was perfect, otherwise neither one would be traded. Peterson played nine years and is at the point he is likely to decline. Redding has been nicked but has 3 fewer seasons on his body and has a history of staying on the field. The Seahawks got bigger, younger, and saved $4mil in cap space which helped sign Hill. Assuming Redding is NOT going to IR (knocking wood), it was a good trade for us.

I wouldn't be surprised...
to see Redding, if healthy, outperform high-priced FA Chris Canty of the Giants. Redding can be a beast from what I’ve seen of him on the field in games.

Colin Cole?
The demise of the Broncos in '09 is our future. Pray hard.

I think these two guys might be the biggest x factors for the season.
If either of them can play well next to Mebane, our run defense will be a lot better. I wish we had a healthy Tubbs back.
