Housh Boycotting Madden 10
Colin Cowherd's conversation with Seahawks receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh produced a few tidbits for consumption:
Houshmandzadeh says he knows the offense "inside-out" and is ready to go;
Houshmandzadeh says he hasn't spoken to Matt Hasselbeck since breaking offseason practices, but he expects that to change once he gets to know the quarterback;
Coach Jim Mora stays in touch through text messages and even invited Houshmandzadeh to climb Mount Rainier with him (Houshmandazeh said there's no way he would climb Rainier or any other mountain);
Houshmandzadeh thinks Michael Vick has paid a high enough price, and then some, and he would welcome Vick as a teammate;
Houshmandzadeh, an avid Madden video-game player in the past, is boycotting "Madden NFL 10" over what he considered low ratings for himself.

Also.
It seems like Housh is saying that the game has him over-rated. Of course, the champs on the ESPN message boards have already been hard at work calling him overrated in general. In a shining display of ESPN message board loveliness, there’s even a Cardinal fan who claims that any of their receivers are better, Breaston in particular.

No way!
I hope you’re not insinuating Leaping Larry and Q are better than Housh!

NO ONE IS BETTER THAN LEAPIN' LARRY AND Q-BERT.
Ever in history!

Except for Brian Russell, that is.

I've seen this comment all over the place (including the yahoo.com frontpage)
I think its probably an innocent joking-sort of comment that got blown out of proportion. I’m not excited that its getting so much play and am worried that it may turn into bulletin board material for opposing defenses.

I'm sure that's the case
far more likely than anything else. Something that TO suffered, although it was brought on by himself. Is Housh seeming a little TOish so far?

Like Sando points out, the ratings seem fair.
Considering who he’s behind, his ranking is elite among WRs.

I think the rating is fair.
But I also think that he was trying to say he was ranked too high.

I'm not following
why do you think he’s saying he’s ranked too high?
by jacobstevens on Jul 22, 2009 1:21 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Because he was talking about the "system"
and his YPC.

I'm not so sure
He’s got a pretty low YPC. He might have been talking about his use in the short passing game as a reason for his low YPC numbers.

I thought the rating was possibly high by a point, maybe 2.

Well, that helps to balance out Mebane's 71.

In the end, it's just Madden.
Who gives a shit? The rankings might not be complete ass by the time the Super Bowl rolls around and they release their final roster updates, they tend to be better around then.
