Ugh I hate the 3 day idea but love the fact I can be even more hammered when we don't select sanchez.

Well you're right
We know we won’t get Mark Sanchez next year. ;-)

I'm on beer hiatus
But when I return, I’m looking for some quality beer that’s lower in alcohol content. Any good suggestions?
Beer requires alcohol to not-suck.
The demise of the Broncos in '09 is our future. Pray hard.

That's not necessarily disagreeing with Nick.
Alcohol has other properties than getting you drunk. Those are the ones I’d like to stay. I’m pretty sure the alcohol content affects the beer’s body, because every N/A I’ve ever tried has a thin and watery feel to it. Alcohol also alters the aroma and thus the taste of the beer. If anyone knows of any non-crappy N/A, please let me know….
Agreed.
You know, I lost my father. Ah, he'll turn up. Have you checked the dumpster out back? He used to like to take a nap in there."

Lower in alcohol content? Kona Pipeline Porter. German hefeweizens.
Stone Levitation is on the lower side too, if I’m not mistaken.
I like Kona's Wailua Wheat

Same here
didn’t expect that much passion fruit to still be pretty good.
by jacobstevens on Jul 24, 2009 10:55 AM PDT up reply actions
Levitation was good at first
but it’s taste keeps it from being a session beer.
Is Kona any good? I’m not wild about most porters.
It depends. I generally find chocolatey porters to be too sweet, but this is only has Kona coffee in it.
I’m a big fan. Unfortunately, it’s seasonal and this is not the season.
I'm OK with chocolate porters
but when the anise is detectable, yech.
Coffee porter sounds great. I’m a porter guy.

Speaking of session beers
(Full Sail) Session is one of the best. I know you wouldn’t think it from the name, but trust me on this one.
Also, +10 internets for the poll. You owe me a bottle of Windex for cleaning the beer spray off my monitor though.
by Camarostache '77 on Jul 23, 2009 9:00 PM PDT up reply actions
They also make Black Session
I’m not a huge fan of the beer itself (its a little flat-tasting for a lager), but I’m a big fan of the stubby bottles it comes in.
So what's session beer?
I’d seen Full Sail Session, before, but otherwise had never heard of the term.

Almost any IPA you can get over here in Europe is between 3.5-4.5%
It’s really baffling.

Guiness?
They sell (sold?) the stuff in grocery stores in SLC, where most beers have to be 3.2%. I’m not sure that the liquor boards would make an exception for them or that Guiness would brew special batches for them.
Guiness isn't my favorite stout, either
But Obsidian clocks in at 6.7% and you asked for a low-alcohol beer.
Then there's Samuel Jackson's.
You don’t really have a choice with that stuff. He’ll kick your ass if you don’t drink it.
MacTarnahan's Blackwatch Cream Porter
Its a porter, but it tastes like a stout to me. It’s probably pretty close to 5 or so. It tastes like a mocha should taste (like dark chocolate and black coffee had a baby).
Harpoon Brown Session Ale
Haven’t had it in quite a while, but it was pretty good IIRC. (Can you guys find Harpoon in WA? Their Oktoberfest is tasty….)
BA’s review.
I'll be sitting on the lake drinking about 14 of those tomorrow.

I'm a huge fan of their Bachelor ESB
It can be tough to find sometimes, but its worth the effort. Its a little hoppier and a little maltier than your standard pale ale.
I missed the second day of the draft this year
I thought it was a hangover. It turned out to be the flu. After I recovered, I discovered that there was a swine flu outbreak in process.
Lost productivity, anyone?
Second day trades should become more prevalent as a result. The improved last-minute negative rumor mill will be fun to experience.
So it looks like the picks are going to start at 4:30 PST on Thursday
That’s not really “prime time” for anybody west of the Mississippi. If I get home and turn on the tube at 6:30 PM, I’m missing the first 10 picks or so. Sucks for us.
I'm confused...
why is there not a “No” option??!?
I saw a shirt the other day that said, “I’m like a chocoholic, only with alcohol.”
Please, for the LOVE OF GOD, stop suggesting next year's 1st round pick (or picks) be used for Taylor Mays and or a QB of the future. Let's just let the season unfold, people, and evaluate much deeper in the process!!!

God I love this site.
I also love having any excuse to drink more and not feel ashamed. Hopefully I won’t be drinking super heavily throughout this upcoming Seahawks season…
Nooooo!
I am in Hawaii, and I plan for the draft so that I may watch it in it’s entirety. How the fuck am I gonna get time off work on a Thursday afternoon??
Sam Bradford, future Seattle Seahawk.
ask for it a year in advance...
most employers are flexible enough…. though I might not tell them WHY you need it off… ;)

If this isn't a sign that I need to quit my job soon, I don't know what is.

As long as you stay in Hawaii and don't get any ideas about moving to the PacNW.

Not even to go back so I can watch Seahawks games?
Seahawks games > Hawaii.

Eh, suit yourself. Aside from this stretch of the year, the weather gets really tiresome.

I hear Hawaii gets tiresome too
I mean, seriously, what’s there to do for non-tourists?
by aerozeppelin on Jul 23, 2009 10:34 PM PDT up reply actions
Nothing except getting drunk and having sex, which is not all that bad, from what I hear.

It was mild and in the 70s when I posted that.
Now I’m just one of the thousands with a fan pointed directly at me at full-speed in an extremely uncomfortable stuffy room.

As my father is known to say,
“Thanks for visiting, close the door on your way back home.”
I'm gonna go calm submissive on your ass.
Excellent Tick reference in the photo caption
At least, if that was the goal, well done.
