Watch 0:29 on the above.

Jason La Canfora says: "One look down field to Hank Baskett--his best play of the night--where he read his progression and found someone on the opposite side of the field."

Right when he said that I had to stop it. Even on first viewing it's clear Vick stares down Baskett and twice pats the ball. Now, La Canfora might mean that at some point before the clip we see, Vick read his progression and then looked at Baskett. Whatever the case though, this is not a good play. It's a bad play that worked.

That's funny.

Read his progression then found someone on the opposite side of the field. If you count looking to the right for a few seconds then throwing in that direction as that, then yeah. I think the most analysis is done extremely sloppily because most people who watch stuff don’t care if it is accurate. Things like ‘read his progression’ sounds good, and people see 4-4 19 yards as a good line so they want to hear good things about Vick. Or really bad things. If he threw for 2 INTs or something that would be good for the NFL as well, except then Vick would be benched at some point, and wouldn’t be making news by sitting (unless he became the disgruntled teammate).

It’s odd how Vick and Favre are the #1 and #2 stories coming into the year. I guess it’s because they’re on winning teams, but if they weren’t, I think they’d still be the two biggest stories coming into the year, which is a bit disheartening.

What's really funny

Is the video shows La Confora blinking twice as he said, “Where he read his progression and found someone on the opposite side of the field.” What makes it more intersting is that he even changes his tone of voice as he’s finishing that statement.

Seems to me he doesn’t believe in what he was saying. Almost lying, which makes sense, because Vick is starring Baz-kett down as if it were Kendra out there running.

I'm lost on this reference.

I’m thinking Kendra Schaaf, UW’s number one Cross Country and 5k runner, and Canadian Junior champ. But I have a feeling that’s not who you’re referring to.
