Seattle Seahawks Release Tony Taylor, Sign Former WWU Viking Shane Simmons
Before we catch up with yesterday's evening practice, Seattle made a minor roster move releasing linebacker Tony Taylor and signing Shane Simmons. Taylor had sat out practice since Sunday with knee soreness, and when you're signed mostly to provide camp depth, you can't miss multiple practices. Simmons is a local kid, so there's that. He played at University of Idaho before transferring to Western Washington University. Simmons was a 2007 Captain's Award winner and Defensive Player of the Year for a Vikings program that has since been cut. Simmons has very little chance of making the Seahawks roster in any capacity, and very little chance of making a pro roster, but this has got to be a dream come true, so go bust some heads man.

From the Vandals to the Vikings to the Seahawks
If only the mascots meant something . . .
/in before requisite “Who?” post
It's sort of like the 'if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" thing.
If the Seahawks cut two guys in training camp, and they never really played and no one knew there were even on the team, were they ever really on the team to begin with?
There's no such thing...
as “talent” coming from Western.
Hell, there ain’t even a program anymore. Not that it was worth anything when it WAS there…
Oh, one more thing…
Go Wildcats!
Please, for the LOVE OF GOD, stop suggesting next year's 1st round pick (or picks) be used for Taylor Mays and or a QB of the future. Let's just let the season unfold, people, and evaluate much deeper in the process!!!

SUDDENLY, JONATHAN STEWART APPEARS!
Although he’s not on the Seahawks, but still. We had Larry Tripplett and Omare Lowe, both out of UW, during the last training camp but both were cut.

He's been there before
Simmons has participated in camp often with the Raiders and Seahawks. He was actually with the ’Hawks during mini-camp this year.
