Around SBN: Interview With UMD Athletic Director, Dr. Debbie Yow

Concussions in athletes are generally brushed off as fairly insignificant. Seeing as how cells in your brain don't regenerate well (or at all), brain trauma is nothing to ignore. Lofa Tatupu is making a pretty generous gift.

Good for you, Lofa.

It’s an admirable move to agree to donate your brain…your delicious BRAAAINS. BRAAAINS!

Hey! Who let that Raiders fan in here?

Here's a "did you know?"

You have to apply to donate your body to science, and it’s a pretty extensive application.

At many medical schools the students who work with cadavers have a memorial service for them at the end of the year. I haven’t been to one but a friend of mine went to one because one of her friends who died donated his body. She brought me the program from the service. It was pretty interesting.

We did that

before the first cut we paused as a memorial, then at the end of the year had an actual ceremony. It was very cool…
