Sunday Night Open Thread

After an exciting but exhausting game, I am happy to sit back and watch one of the greatest players to ever play chuck the rock. I am going to go grab a beer and a bite, but I'll be around to watch the game. Hope to see the people who can still stomach football. Hell, I am hungry for more football. That was a rotten ending, but a great game.

I’m pulling for the Colts this week. If the Cards lose then our loss today doesn’t alter our divisional ranking.

Wow the Buffalo media are assholes

What good does it do them to incite TO into a melt down? Are they really that desperate for a story?

by Nate Dogg on Sep 27, 2009 5:29 PM PDT reply actions

They're just desperate for the world to notice them.

Most of the time you forget there is a team in Buffalo at all. Seriously.. didn’t they go away after the string of superbowl losses and move to another town? ;)

by fender on Sep 27, 2009 5:31 PM PDT up reply actions

He is so fast

sometimes he doesn’t get the blitz because the quarterback senses that instant pressure and chucks it.

by John Morgan on Sep 27, 2009 5:46 PM PDT up reply actions

I really enjoyed when Freeney would line up across Ogden

He gave Ogden fits, got in his head and had him all flustered. it was fun a lot of fun to watch.

by Nate Dogg on Sep 27, 2009 5:49 PM PDT up reply actions

I hope we give the Colts a game next week.

I think we can, they look good, but they’ve had a tough time with two so/so teams the first two weeks.

Seattles D looked good though

Considering that the offense put them in bad positions, the D did a pretty good job with all the back ups!

Do the Texans run Zone Blocking?

It certainly seems that Frye has jumped into the system really quickly.

Did he play in that system at VT maybe?

by fender on Sep 27, 2009 6:33 PM PDT up reply actions

He was a Dolphin

That is part of the strength of the system. It’s simple, but it requires smarts. Guess Frye is smart.

by John Morgan on Sep 27, 2009 6:36 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah, he was with the Fins last year but drafted by the Texans

I’m certainly thankful for a system that rewards smarts – as I think we have a fair amount of that on our line.

Man, that was one frustrating loss today

Lots of missed opportunity on offense.

We converted one big turnover on Cutler in crunch time, but got close a lot of other times. The two misses by Mare probably won’t happen again from those distances.

The D looked good at every level.
