Will Carroll Reports Dwight Freeney Out With a Torn Quad
Via Stampede Blue, Dwight Freeney to miss this Sunday:
This Twitter was sent from Will Carroll at injuryexpert:
Freeney has a torn quad. Waiting on MRI to see severity but sounds bad. Def out for Week 4.
Again, no confirmations as yet, but it sounds bad.
Freeney is one of the best defensive ends and the best pure Tampa 2 end in the NFL. His ability to pressure and disrupt supercedes his awesome ability to sack and force fumbles. The Colts pass defense lives on that disruption and will be hamstrung without Freeney. You don't root for injury, but his loss certainly improves the Seahawks chances of winning this Sunday.

Ouch.
Terrible news for the Colts and I feel terrible for Freeney. That said, thank god our O-Line isn’t going to have to deal with him on Sunday.
Bummer for the colts.
Bob Sanders out, too?
The demise of the Broncos in '09 is our future. Pray hard.

Sucks for Freeney and the Colts
Lets hope that Freeney heals quickly and that the Hawks make this one competitive.
Mike Wahle(OG), Walter Jones(LT), Chris Spencer(C), Marcus Trufant(CB), Deion Branch(WR), Sean Locklear(OT), Brandon Mebane(DT), Leroy Hill(LB), Lofa Tatupu(LB), Josh Wilson(CB), Justin Griffith(FB), Matt Hasselbeck (QB)
Also, both of Rams' receivers injured in game 3
Laurent Robinson could be out for the season.

Poor Rams.
We should just look toward the arch when we feel the urge to complain about our injuries.
I saw when Freeney left the game last night, and without shame hoped it would keep him out of this game. Didn’t figure it to be likely, though, and I thought I even saw him back out there later.

Anyone know who Freeney's backup is?
Either way it’s MASSIVE news.
I hope we get Hass and Walt back this weekend to improve our offense.
The QB class of 2010 looks deep next season.
Unless Hass is uninhibited by the injury
I’d rather have Seneca. Although he made some poor throws and decisions, I still think a healthy Seneca > injured Matt.
God please let us have big Walt back!!!

Along the same lines
A healthy Frye > an injured Walt (probably). While Frye might be a little dinged up from Sunday’s game, he’s proven pretty effective in a quiet sort of way. I’m worried about rushing Walt too early into a protection scheme that he’s not as familiar with on a line he hasn’t really practiced with for a long time.

Oh for sure
I’d never want Walt to be on the field unless he’s at 100%

Eh, I do.
He’s so often not been 100%. The replacements have done well, and this time might be different, so we’ll see. I’m ready for him, though. I’m ready to see if his talent and skill transcends schematic variance.

Sucks for the Colts
That’s bad news for the Colts, and I’m sorry to hear that. You never want to beat a team because they were missing key players.
That said, I’m not sure the Seahawks can keep up with Indy’s offense. I think Manning’s going to pick the Seahawks’ pass defense apart.
No Freeney + Indy turf
= Seneca running wild.
Probably throwing three picks, but running wild.
Seneca will run wild even with Freeney
He’ll just go where ever he wants without any effectiveness.
The QB class of 2010 looks deep next season.
Nice...
With Freeney out it should be easier for our team to make bigger plays. And speaking of defense was I the only one who thought Hawthorne did great against the bears yesterday?
Hawthorne played like a champ
Mike Wahle(OG), Walter Jones(LT), Chris Spencer(C), Marcus Trufant(CB), Deion Branch(WR), Sean Locklear(OT), Brandon Mebane(DT), Leroy Hill(LB), Lofa Tatupu(LB), Josh Wilson(CB), Justin Griffith(FB), Matt Hasselbeck (QB)
I'd love to hear John's take on that
I don’t DVR, but DVD-RW. This game’s disc effed itself and I couldn’t see it, except for the first quarter when I watched live, and video highlights. My immediate reaction when I saw the 15 tackles was that the Bears targeted him. So I’d like to hear what John says.

Kinda makes you think..
Not having any new injuries this week was a small victory.
Good point.
That must be the hidden reason that this last loss didn’t bother me as much. Aren’t we projected to get 3 or so starters back in the game this week?
Glenn Beck likes argument, but has a deap-seated hatred for logic.
Frye was banged up
So was Lucas.
Mike Wahle(OG), Walter Jones(LT), Chris Spencer(C), Marcus Trufant(CB), Deion Branch(WR), Sean Locklear(OT), Brandon Mebane(DT), Leroy Hill(LB), Lofa Tatupu(LB), Josh Wilson(CB), Justin Griffith(FB), Matt Hasselbeck (QB)
Sims.
Sprained oblique according to O’Neill.
I actually bought a Betancourt t-shirt.
P.S. Fuck the Angels!

First he says strained.
Then he says sprained but I don’t think you can sprain your oblique so I’m going to say strained.
