Collin Streetman: Since Antoine Cason left for the NFL, you've been a major leader on defense and have served as a Defensive Captain this season. What did taking on this responsibility teach you?
Nate Ness: You know that being accountable is important as a man. It gave me a sense of accountability. I have to be a role model for younger freshmen DBs and just being respectful and showing them the ropes. You have to show them how to live your right life as a man first and it transitions onto the field.

IR huh?
Seems an odd thing to do with a backup backup backup backup center. I guess that means they want him back next year? So much for Unger getting a break tonight.

You can't cut an injured player
So they just IR him to open his roster spot

Ness any good?
Is there any chance we’ll see him start over Russell, or is that a dying hope at this point?

If a fan fav, a toolsy UDFA, and a TR draft pick haven't been able to do it after all of the preseason
Then I doubt some roster fodder is going to do it in a week.
Ness was probably just brought in so they’s have enough ST bodies for tonight’s game. I wouldn’t expect too much out of the move.

Looks like competition for Courtney Greene
to see if we can keep one decent S on practice squad to develop

Wow, Ness certainly is a combine stud.

I was thinking more Jamar Adams
To this point I’ve seen little progression from Adams, and Greene seems to be making the plays that Adams has not. That said, I think it’s possible that this move has practice squad implications.
Is anything known about the particular systems Ness played in at both UA and at the junior college level?

According to the P.I.
Ness has yet to practice with the team, so it’ll be interesting to see where he might fit in. Listed as a safety with the New York Jets, the Seahawks have the former University of Arizona standout on their depth chart at cornerback.
