Week 17 - Early Thread
Jets on the road against the Bengals backups has been flexed to the night game leaving the morning short of meaning for Seahawks fans. Always worth it to root against the Steelers, though I think they can knock out the Broncos some how. Rams and Panthers can double-screw the 49ers and that's worthy. Brian Brohm argues for the freely available quarterback while Mark Brunell hopes to avoid traumatic brain trauma.

But at the beginning of the year his brother even said I think matt only has one year left and given his age, his injuries, how beat up he is getting and the fact the team will be rebuilding. Coming back doesn’t seem like the best idea.

Sing it Brother!
I would love to see Tapp standing up and rushing from the OLB position.
What the heck is a 6-1 guy like him doing at LDE? Getting wrapped up by 6-5 OTs that’s what. The coaches need to unleash Tapp’s energy by giving him a chance to run form the snap.
It won’t happen with the current coaching staff remains. They’ll want continuity in working on their 4-3 schemes. And it won’t happen unless we target a Big NT. My biggest concern with playing a 3-4 would be whether Mebane fits in a 3-4, unless he can bulk up enough to play NT. But I’d love to see Redding and Bryant at DE, Lofa and Leroy at ILB, and Curry and Tapp at OLB with a chance to generate some pass rush for a change.
Ah well, we can dream, right?

Guesses on Chris Johnson yards and touches?
I bet the Hawks play a decent first quarter, but then he’ll explode all over the Seahawks defense.
200 yards, 33 attempts
I think that's a reasonable guess.
Maybe scale down to 175 on 27.
I'm gonna go calm submissive on your ass.
I actually initially typed 175 on 30, but I think they're really going to feed him the ball.
And he has a good yards per carry average this season so 175 seemed low.
You think the Hawks D is going to be that stiff?
Cause they’re going to give him the ball a shit ton.
We've been alright against the run.
Its the pass that has been killing us.
by Scruffy Lefty on Jan 3, 2010 11:47 AM PST up reply actions
Agreed, I just don't think they're going to keep him under 100.
Even if the Hawks know they’re going to run it every time, I don’t think they could hold Johnson to under 100. All they have to play for is the single season rushing record. I think that will result in a lot of running plays and, if nothing else by shear attrition, result in a lot yards.
All he has to do is find a seam an he can break one the distance.
It’s not uncommon for him, regardless of who the opponent is. I know our run defense is good – probably the strength of the defense, but it doesn’t take much. We should be fired up , regardless. I think he breaks it. He’s on too much of a roll.
Anyone know where to watch the Hawks online?

Yes, but Dan Dierdorf is reporting that he's hurt,
and look, he’s holding it after each throw. So though. What a competitor. He’s Dan’s hero.

Really? You think the announcers would have mentioned it...
But then again, Pit never gets much media attention.

I'd like to see Houston in the playoffs.
Their offense is fun to watch. If Knapp can make Seattle like Houston, that would be fun.
It is what it is...
Here:
Denver Broncos, Denver clinches a playoff spot with:
1. DEN win + NYJ loss or tie + BAL loss or tie OR
2. DEN win + NYJ loss or tie + PIT loss or tie OR
3. DEN win + NYJ loss or tie + HOU win OR
4. DEN win + BAL loss or tie + PIT loss or tie OR
5. DEN win + BAL loss or tie + HOU win OR
6. PIT loss + BAL loss + HOU loss + JAC loss OR
7. PIT loss + BAL loss + HOU loss + NYJ loss OR
8. PIT loss + BAL loss + JAC loss + NYJ loss OR
9. PIT loss + HOU loss + JAC loss + NYJ loss OR
10. MIA loss or tie + NYJ loss + BAL loss + HOU loss + JAC loss or tie
Let's see what's left
1. DEN win + NYJ loss or tie + BAL loss or tie OR
2. DEN win + NYJ loss or tie + PIT loss or tie OR
3. DEN win + NYJ loss or tie + HOU win OR
4. DEN win + BAL loss or tie + PIT loss or tie OR
5. DEN win + BAL loss or tie + HOU win OR
6. PIT loss + BAL loss + HOU loss + JAC loss OR
7. PIT loss + BAL loss + HOU loss + NYJ loss OR
8. PIT loss + BAL loss + JAC loss + NYJ loss OR
9. PIT loss + HOU loss + JAC loss + NYJ loss OR
10. MIA loss or tie + NYJ loss + BAL loss + HOU loss + JAC loss or tie
So Baltimore and Jets need to win - or at least one of those two, right?
Really just need the Jets to win. And Denver to lose… :)
Alright, Ted Ginn.
