Post Your Hawk: Week 6

Seattle Seahawks (2-2) vs. Chicago Bears (4-1)

Seattle Injuries: Dexter Davis DE (Hamstring, DNP Wednesday); Marcus Trufant CB (Ankle, DNP Wednesday)

Chicago Injuries: Lance Briggs LB (Ankle, DNP Wednesday); Roberto Garza OL (Knee, DNP Wednesday); Charles Tillman CB (Calf, DNP Wednesday); Major Wright S (Hamstring, DNP Wednesday); Brian Urlacher LB (Groin, LP Wednesday); Jay Cutler QB (Concussion, FP Wednesday); Chris Williams OL (Hamstring, FP Wednesday)

Star-divide

There's a lot to be nervous about with this game. Coming off a bye week? Check. Road game? Check. 10am start? Check. Last game was a humiliating road loss? Check. Add in the fact that Marcus Trufant is still dealing with what sounds like a pretty bad ankle injury, and, well, consider me pretty pessimistic about the Seahawks' chances on Sunday.

In fact, I think the Seahawks are gonna get rolled. Chicago's offense is pretty crappy, but their defense is still pretty good. My Hawk is Brandon Mebane He gets a couple of nice pressures, which forces Cutler into a couple of sacks. Also, Me! Bane! picks up a couple of nice backfield squishies of Matt Forte.

However, the offense sucks royally and Chicago wins 17-3.

thebluefox won the player projection by picking Lawyer Milloy. Here's a link to the point prediction spreadsheet: Link. Remember, in order to qualify for the title, you have to pick at least 75% of the games this year, as we're picking the winner based on the average difference, not total points. Also, as always, if something doesn't seem right with the spreadsheet, let me know and I'll make sure it gets fixed.

We’re 2-1 when I pick against the Seahawks so let’s make it 3-1.

I love the fact that "squishes" is now tracked stat here at Fieldgulls

Clemons
2 sacks (though I never sincerely wish injury on another player, high chance cutler is out by half-time)

Game features only defensive and special teams TDs.

Shanghai Kelly's on Polk St. in San Francisco is the worst bar on the face of the earth (at least on Sunday mornings).

Have a bad feeling about this game,

I’ll take Red Bryant with 1.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble.

Bears win 34-14.

We should lose, I expect it.

But I won’t be surprised to see us not only win, but do so convincingly, even if merely carried by defense and ST.

STFTW!

Rookie mistake gets him schooled by Peppers, leaves Hasselbeck broken, and clears the way for Aragorn. Whitehurst in a comeback victory with 250 yards and 2 TDs in 3 quarters.

Well done!

And Lynch was a game changer as well. I honestly don’t know if we sustain those drives if he gets caught in the backfield or held to meager gains. His stats don’t show it, but he demoralized the Bears.
