Smallish end

Red Bryant looks like Baby Huey in his shoulder pads. His uniform barely fits right. He dwarfs tackles he plays against. Billick needs to go stand next to that guy.

by A. Simmons on Oct 18, 2010 12:15 AM PDT up reply actions

He probably meant Clemons.

You know how confused Billick can get.

by Coach Owens on Oct 18, 2010 12:19 AM PDT up reply actions

Exactly

or Red Bryant. I guess that’s why we’re not NFL announcers. We’d make too damn much sense. People at home would learn too much and we’d be out of a job

He forgot we have different players than we had in 2007

I am going to come into your house at night and rec up the place.

Hes thinking old Hawks..

The hawks he knew when he coached. He seemed to me during the broadcast that he memory was in the past…maybe why he got fired….

by S_o_Smith on Oct 18, 2010 9:04 AM PDT up reply actions

I didn't think he was referring to Red on that play

I thought Billick was talking about the Bears’ tight end that he totally manhandled on his way into the backfield. Bryant was like twice the size of the guy.

I question his toughness

It's an injury you keep all season.

Really common football injury — happens when interior top of your helmet gets smashed into the bridge of your nose — if it manages to break your skin it will get re-injured every single game and not heal properly until the offseason.

Ugly. That's what I get with this pic. It's an ugly win.

It made my stomach turn at points, but I couldn’t change the channel.

Ugly. But beautiful. The Bears will beat many teams, but we did some things that we couldn’t do before. What a win!

by Hawkprophet on Oct 17, 2010 10:47 PM PDT reply actions

It was an ugly win?

Can’t say I felt the same way. Close game with exciting play from many key players.

by Thomas Beekers on Oct 17, 2010 11:24 PM PDT up reply actions

I agree

I felt like this was an all around solid win. Great play from the lines, good offensive balance, no turnovers, 6 sacks. How was this ugly?

by USCmarinersFAN on Oct 17, 2010 11:50 PM PDT up reply actions

I thought the Hawks would lose...

so it was beautiful to me. I did not feel like we should have blown out the Bears.

by Strictnine on Oct 18, 2010 7:33 AM PDT up reply actions

The only major mistake i felt yesterday

was the final punt not making it out of bounds and giving Hester a shot. Other than that, we looked successful in most aspects of the game. We didn’t play a spectacular game in any one area (except maybe 3rd down defense), but did just enough to win against a quality opponent on the road. While there is room for improvement everywhere, nothing looks critically broken, which is a good feeling after the loss to the Rams.

by SmartAssCoug on Oct 18, 2010 10:25 AM PDT up reply actions

The punt wasn't a mistake, it was a failure to execute

The plan was to punt the ball out of bounds, but Ryan had difficulty getting it there (maybe due to the edge rushers messing with his directional punting mojo).

by Greetings from the Lord Humongous! on Oct 18, 2010 10:39 AM PDT up reply actions

I didn't think it should have been a blowout either.

But after watching 3 quarters of the game, I do think it should have been a 23-14 or a 23-10 game.

by talofox on Oct 18, 2010 5:11 PM PDT up reply actions

We were one botched punt from a 23-13 game

If Ryan kicks it out of bounds in the 4th (like he intended), its 23-13 with the 2 min left and the Bears in their own territory.

by Greetings from the Lord Humongous! on Oct 18, 2010 5:27 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah, no.

This wasn’t an ugly win; this was a complete win. Everything besides Hester’s TD was motherfucking Seahawks football.

Ugly wins are a whole lot better than moral victories.

Ugly wins are wins, and moral victories are losses. I saw a whole lot of barely on the same page plays made on raw talent and hustle. Keep in mind most of the key contributors have never played together before this year, and some only got here last week.

This team will be scary good, scary soon.

Go shitsburg, we’ll be hanging a 57-3 asswhoopin’ on ya in the Super Bowl, accompanied by the requisite “The much better team gave it away” analysis from the talking heads.

by bleedshawkblue on Oct 17, 2010 11:11 PM PDT reply actions

I love your enthusiasm and attitude.

I have decided that the “tt” is silent. That way I can still say, “Pittsburgh” in polite company without startling anybody :)

And I was just happy to see a game with no interceptions.

by Tigloki on Oct 17, 2010 11:17 PM PDT up reply actions

Hmm.. I'll have to disagree that the Bears are going to get a lot of wins this season.

They could have easily been 2-3 heading into their game with us.

Covets: Mark Ingram, Marcell Dareus, Prince Amukamara, Rodney Hudson, and Owen Marecic.

by Carl Shinyama on Oct 18, 2010 9:15 AM PDT up reply actions

To be fair, so could most teams.

The parity this year is amazing, especially in the NFC. Not saying the Bears are a great team but they are still decent.

by Hopefulmsfan on Oct 18, 2010 1:46 PM PDT up reply actions

Glad to get the division's first win of the season agains non-division foes...

No, I’m not stupid, but I swear I heard one of the commentators say the NFC West was 0-8 against non-NFC West teams. Anyone else catch that— 1st quarter, I think…

Also, I think Andrews got screwed on both his penalties.

by Kryten on Oct 17, 2010 11:19 PM PDT reply actions

Yip, I heard it

I couldn’t figure out what he was talking about

by Thomas Beekers on Oct 17, 2010 11:25 PM PDT up reply actions

They were 0-7 against non-division opponents on the road.

(ARI lost at ATL and SD; SF had lost at ATL and KC; STL had lost at OAK and DET; Seahawks had lost at Denver)

by Coach Owens on Oct 17, 2010 11:25 PM PDT up reply actions

Makes sense...

except the parts where they say “0-8” and forget to say “road”.
But that’s probably what they meant. Close enough, I guess.

by Kryten on Oct 18, 2010 1:44 AM PDT up reply actions

Definitely got screwed on the hold where he dove and barely hit the guy.

I have to think they called the wrong number, because that was in no way, shape or form a hold.

by It's Good To Be King on Oct 17, 2010 11:37 PM PDT up reply actions

I noticed that a couple of times for both teams

On Danieal Manning’s return I don’t think it was #58 that held. I think it was #59. Oh well I guess

I think that was the play where Okung launches Urlacher out of the endzone on Forsett's TD run

Classic bitch response by Urlacher after he was owned as well. Thank you Okung.

If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?

Somebody needs to bitch-slap the Fox team

Red chases Cutler around the end zone, and the dumbshit in the booth is yapping about him being a “smallish” defensive end? WTF? Red’s the biggest DE in the league by maybe 40 pounds.

Where the fuck does FOX find these tards? Maybe if they gave them an extra $5 they might actually READ A ROSTER?

Loved the game, but next time I’ll be sure to turn off the Foxtards and listen to the local radio broadcast. Freekin IDIOTS!!!
