Field Gulls Podcast: Shaking Off the Rust

Photo

I thought about this last night and then sat down and spitballed this morning. It's all one take, no editing, which could mean some noise, some rough audio, but I didn't want to sweat it.

First Pod of the Season

It didn't work.

I’m going to keep trying this.

Michael Robinson leads the Seahawks in completion percentage, yards-per-attempt, and QB rating.

Is this some crazy plot to get more hits??

Though they sink through the Sea, they shall rise again...Death shall have no dominion... Over the Hawks that is. May they reach unadulterated glory and earn the metonym of "Phoenixes".

Good, with two minor flaws...

First, the lighting was too dark. Second, I would more dashes and commas..

Good listen

The past two years around this time I was quietly starting to really take a long look at the 2010 Draft. The thought of that just feels stupid now.

I’ve been “in” for some time now.

Favorite part of the post I think.

Just kinda knocks that point on the head for good measure as the monologue strolls by.

Meaningless update...

The Hawks are an 83 on the updated rosters for Madden. Up from a 76 when the game was first released in August. The most notable improvers are Clemons (84) and BMW (77).
I bet BMW will be in the 80s on the next update.

Is it just me or does this thing loop for anyone else?

I distinctly remember hearing “The kid looks pretty good” at least three times.

Boy would that be fun

can’t remember the last time Seattle ran over an opponent. Probably Nolan’s Big Sub D.

Meh.

The Rams.

One small thing, John.

Maybe it’s just my hearing or my computer’s audio, but the volume was kind of low. I use headphones for audio and it was difficult to hear unless I tried to cover my ears from other sounds and stuff. Great stuff, though.

It did seem like a rather low volume on my iPod as well

I just jacked up the volume. Maybe just a wee bit louder next time. Excellent content though. Thanks for your amazing work.

Yeah

That’s what happens when I don’t boost it through Audacity.

Thanks for the comments. It will be louder next go.

Good stuff.

Easy to follow logic. I will be looking for these things tomorrow. I like how you try to quantify the intangibles. Any given Sunday…..and these sea hawks are overdue for a season full of lucky breaks.

I am becoming more and more interested in following the coordinators scheming as it develops throughout the game. It is very dynamic and it feels good when they out coach the opposition.

It seems that it is very important for this seahawks team to score early and not fall behind. The game plan thereafter is achievable.

I would venture to say...

That score early and don’t fall behind
makes most schemes easier to execute.

Indeed sir.

This just struck me as the most blatantly obvious difference between our wins and losses this year.

I must admit

I didn’t think I would like the Podcast format but it was good. Nice Job.

Hey John…I loved the info and I like the way it was spun off your insightful mind spontaneously.

I said this once and I’ll say it again, John Morgan is the ONLY place to go for an accurate, on time appaisal of the ’hawks.

Keep it coming John and I hope that you’re enough right that we squeeze a win from this twits.

I think...

I love your attitude, kid! Glad I could listen to it on my phone. It’s going to be a fucking thrill ride!!!

Tangled up in blue.

I wish you would "ramble" more often....

I can pop open a podcast in my office and let it go, but dont always (ok,, hardly ever) have time to read all your content.

Just a suggestion:
I find myself skipping (90%) of your drive breakdowns. It just gets too much for me during a busy day, but it’s content I would love to hear expounded upon. The technical “goodies” remain some of my all-time favorite content, but it doesn’t translate for me in print. Could this potentially be stream of thought podcast stuff for you as your breaking down?

I get the feeling that (not unlike myself in what I do)… your a perfectionist? I know that i have a tendency to NOT reveal things that I am not satisfied with.

Dont be. I really…. really dig the audio stuff you present and nearly always find myself thinking (ah crap… its over?)

Fpr what it’s worth JM.
