I won't debate my view of Chris Spencer's talent level because I think in the end I will be proven completely right. The question is, this line needs a total overhaul outside of Okung it's talent lacking. Consistent play is the game. It isn't flash and ass. The problem I've had with Chris Spencer for years is the ridiculous up and down play. Flash and ass is what I'm calling it, because it seems to be one of Chris Spencer's positions of consistency. He has spent at least 4 plays this week and 4 plays last week on his backside completely blown into the play in the running game.
So what do you do? Do you mark him as part of the future when evaluating his talent or skills? Or do you look at his entire body of work and say a change is needed? Do you consider making a veteran move or do you go young across the board even at this key position? This line needs upgrades across it and the Spencer question is key. I know how I have felt about it since 2008 but perhaps now we might all look at Spencer the way we have been hammering Hasselbeck's weaknesses and ask a question about the QB of the Seahawks offensive line.
