Completing 17 of 23 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown is pretty good.

Why the hell do stupid girls from CWU mean alcohol needs to be banned?
I’ve never had the stuff, but seriously, handle your shit and stop forcing rules because of your idiocy.

That Loco stuff. 4Loco or whatever.
The energy drink combos, because those girls at CWU that everyone thought go roofied.
Turned out they just got shitfaced on their own, no boys trying to take advantage of them. But it was “the last straw” for the energy drink combo things. (Which, I say is fine, they suck, HOWEVER, I’d sure like to see them allow me to buy vodka AND red bull in the supermarket or corner store, just like colorado or cali, the two states I last lived in.)

Fine the retailers that are selling to underaged kids
And take their Licenses
Those drinks are horrible
Trust me, no big loss
I'm calling for a ban on this new drink called "vodka"
Did you know one bottle of vodka can have the effect of up to 20 beers, and might be consumed so quickly that drinkers might not notice the signs of intoxication until its too late? The drink is even being marketed to children, with vodka available in multiple fruit flavors to mask the alcohol. We need to think of the children.
by fullchromelogic on Nov 14, 2010 2:54 PM PST up reply actions
Yeah, but if you banned red-bull instead, no one would drink vodka because they'd have to taste it!
Wooooo!
by Anticitizen_One on Nov 14, 2010 2:55 PM PST up reply actions
Agreed.
I would never drink it but I’m not sure why it should be banned because someone did something illegal with it. If that were the case a lot more shit would be illegal. Of course, kids fucked up fireworks too so I shouldn’t be surprised. If I blew off my hand as a kid with a firework my parents would have said “Tough luck, stupid.”
I support its sale on the same condition that i support the sale of all alcohol -
if it is accompanied by appropriate government regulation, education, and abuse therapy

If that kind of throw is the end all be all of QB suckitude, did you forget the VERY FIRST PLAY OF THE YEAR, Hasselbeck threw the same pick to SF?
I’m not saying it wasn’t anything but stupid, but it’s a common pick in the NFL, even more so in the west coast, which invites teams to jump that route all the time by overusing it.

I don't wish injury on players, but...

Ref injury wishes are okay
Professional athletes live on the edge of a knife. A blow to the knee, even if it doesn’t end your career, can mean the difference between a all-Pro and 3rd string. That translates to a huge difference in money, even if they’d just signed with a bunch guaranteed.
An injured referee can return to 85% of his mobility and still have 100% of his effectiveness. More importantly, his income isn’t so wildly variable. He can draw disability (I assume) and get the same size paycheck while recovering.

I don't hate Hasselbeck.
Nor do I love Whitehurst. I’m merely tired of the status quo of mediocrity at QB, and Hass’ numbers the last 3 years speak of a player going nowhere, leading a team stuck in traction.
Great weeks outnumbers by bad weeks, and way too many mediocre on top of that as well.

Disagree
We are now in first place instead of second place. The Niners are only 3-6. Troy Smith is their starting quarterback. They aren’t gonna do shit this season.
Their weak link was QB. They think they've solved that. They at least no longer have Alex Smith back there.
All those things concern me greatly.

Yep.
That’s definitely a concern. Alex Smith held that team back. They could be just good enough to make a run. Especially with 4 of their remaining 7 games against NFC West opponents.

Troy Smith is a new face.
Usually that means a couple of decent games, then opposing defences get some game film and it’s lights out.
I'm just not sold it's that simple.
The Niners remind me a lot of the Jets without NY limelight. Young high talent OL, very good running game.
Their D isn’t quite as “name brand” but it is very good. Their skill position players are skilled, they simply need someone to deliver them the ball a lot more than the other team. Put the right QB in those circumstances, and you’ve got a recipe for a potential hot streak as the year goes on.

Well, the Niners could very well have a resurgence.
Michael Robinson leads the Seahawks in completion percentage, yards-per-attempt, and QB rating.

Spell out numbers that start off sentences.
Sorry, felt like being a grammar douche.

Even numbers greater than ten?
Hmm. When AP style guidelines collide!

Agreed
That bugs the hell out of me. And in your sentence, I think the “off” in “start off” is unnecessary. And I start my sentences with “and”.
And, William Forrester agrees with you.

I know it was said by someone else earlier, but the CoD Black Ops commercial might be the best video game commercial ever made.

For those who missed it earlier
Here’s the insane ending to the Jags game, with Gus Johnson’s equally insane call.
Is that the light at the end of the tunnel, or the headlights of an oncoming train?
I love him because he sounds just like a regular fan watching and reacting to the game.
You know, actually getting excited about the events. Buck and Nantz sound like they’d rather be anywhere else.
Is that the light at the end of the tunnel, or the headlights of an oncoming train?
Dammit. For whatever reason, it came up as "sorry, video no longer available" for me...

Weird, the link is still working on my computer.
And it’s an official NFL video, not a bootleg stream. Keep refreshing and see if it comes up.

Oh cool, Rodney Harrison just said that he thinks that the Niners will win the division.
I don’t get why he hates the Seahawks so much.
Because Rodney Harrison is a piece of SHIT
Fuck you Rodney. Come find me in Seattle and I’ll beat you down.
Because we're 5-4, and have lost several games pretty badly.
Maybe he simply likes their chances more. I can see that being a reasonable assessment.

Unfortunately
this really made me laugh. I love poop jokes for some reason.
Big game against the Saints next week.
Big, BIG game. If we win that one, we’re coasting to the division win.
FG's second favorite football-illiterate semi-troll.
i dont know why
but next week’s game looks terribly similar to last week’s game against NYG.
Luckily, we’ll have Okung back for that game (i think). Let’s see if he’s the difference maker for our running game.
