Post Your Hawk: Week 11

Seattle Seahawks (5-4) vs. New Orleans Saints (6-3)

Seattle Injuries: Colin Cole DT (Ankle, DNP Wed.), Mike Gibson OG (Ankle, DNP Wed.), Matt Hasselbeck QB (Wrist, FP Wed.), Anthony McCoy TE (Knee, DNP Wed.), Russell Okung OT (Ankle, FP Wed.), Michael Robinson RB (Hamstring, DNP Wed.), Brandon Stokely WR (Calf, DNP Wed.), Golden Tate WR (Ankle, DNP Wed.), Lofa Tatupu (Knee, DNP Wed.)

New Olreans Injuries: Reggie Bush RB (Leg, LP Wed.), Chris Ivory RB (Shoulder, LP Wed.), Malcolm Jenkins CB (Neck, LP Wed.), Patrick Robinson CB (Ankle, DNP Wed.), Darren Sharper S (Hamstring, DNP Wed.), Jeremy Shockey TE (Rib, DNP Wed.), Jon Stinchcomb OT (Knee, LP Wed.), Pierre Thomas RB (Ankle, DNP Wed.)

Star-divide

The Saints are almost as beat up as the Seahawks are. They're missing three of their running backs, and a few defensive backs as well. I guess that can be seen as a positive.

My Hawk of the week is, well, shit. New Orleans is a pretty damn good team. According to Football Outsiders, their offensive line is pretty damn awesome, and their defense is pretty good, too. I guess I'll go with Lawyer Milloy. He makes the most of the safety blitz and picks up a sack to go along with a nice run stop on third and short. However, the Saints at home prove to be too much for the Hawks and take the game 27-13.

Hopefulmsfan wins last weeks Post Your Hawk by predicting that Kelly Jennings would intercept his first pass since 2006 in last week's game. Well done, sir. Here's the link to the point prediction spreadsheet: Link. Surf Hawk, diehard_82, BeaverBird and I are battling it out for the top spot. It's close!

Marshawn Lynch and Forsett will combine for their best game yet

while Matt lowers his numbers from Sunday. Saints running game will be shut down by our D, letting us use the 7-DB look and forcing the Saints to throw checkdowns on their speeding running backs. Expect a lot of screens. Brees will have good numbers, but will lose the ball (fumble, interception) and Mare will have the game winning kick.

BMW, 8 receptions for 91 yards and a TD.

The Seahawks enjoy their usual road route, getting blown out but scoring a few times in the 2nd half to make it look like it wasn’t quite so bad.

Saints, 34 -24.

I am going to come into your house at night and rec up the place.

with a bandit interception and two big ST plays.

AC continues his development with 9 tackles, 2 TFL, and 1 sack. I’m really starting to like where he’s headed.

This is tough

I just can’t bring myself to bet against the Hawks. While I’m not overflowing with confidence, I’m hoping for a

Hawks win 31-27.

In order for that to happen, Hass must play within himself and get to the end-zone from the red-zone more often. I’ll say he goes 26-39 with 3 td’s and no int’s.

by diehard82 on Nov 18, 2010 12:28 PM PST reply actions

Changing my mind!!!

With Okung in the lineup and Reggie Bush out, I’m looking for Seattle to try to run the ball, control the clock, keep Brees on the sideline. So, it’s Beast Mode time. Marshawn Lynch gets 22 carries for 97 yards and 1 td. Hawks win a tight one with a last second Mare field goal, 20-17.

Matt.

18-30 245 yds and 1 TD.

Okung.

Hass is sacked twice, but neither time from the left, and BeastForce does alright when rushing with the rookie. Seahawks lose 17-33.

by thebyron on Nov 18, 2010 1:23 PM PST reply actions

Tats.

An INT and a FF plus 3 TFL. Hawks still lose 27-17.

I think Lynch breaks out with Okung back.

120 yds. with a TD.

For the first time, and I hate to do it, I pick against the Hawks. The Saints are just too damn good and it’s in NO.

Okung with a dominating performance that opens up the run game, and the playbook.

I can’t bring myself to bet against my Hawks. I like Brees, but the visage of ole’ Pucked Lips Payton infuriates me and the home field advantage of the Dirt Dome is overstated.

Hawks 27-21

My heart says pick the Hawks.

My head, not knowing a damned thing about the Saints other than they won the SB last year says 31 – 24

Saints.

Tatupu - leads the team in tackles, and gets a pick.

As much as I love the Seahawks, this is the least winnable game of the remaining schedule.

I'm dead last in this thing

might as well take a risk. BeastForce combine for 200 yards and Matt has a QB rating higher than 90. Hawks 31-16 and the saints only TD comes in or close to garbage time.

ME-BANE!!! 3 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble.

Carlson/Okung

Russell’s return allows Carlson to do what he does best, run his routes and pickup chunks of yards. Carlson sets new career highs 9 rec for 114 yards and two TDs.

The Saint’s defense, especially their secondary are unable to force turnovers, allowing the Hawks to put up early points. Hawks hang on in the fourth to win 26-21.
