Interview with Leonard Weaver
Hey Seahawks Nation,
Most of you might remember me from the interview I shared with you about Darryl Tapp or Anthony Heygood.
I would like to share an interview with you. I got a chance to interview Leonard Weaver, former fullback for the Seattle Seahawks. He is currently the highest paid full back in NFL history, and is with the Philadelphia Eagles. Last year, he was All-Pro and a Pro-Bowler.
He reflects on his time with the Seahawks, and what the opportunity in Seattle meant to him.
I had a chance to include audio for this interview, so I really hope you enjoy it!! http://prointerviews.org/11/19/LeonardWeaver/
Thank you for letting me share SB Nation, and I appreciate you checking it out.

(PS -- Sorry it's another former Seahawk, [now Philadelphia Eagle], still trying to get some more Seahawks players)

I've heard.
Happy I could get him to reflect on his time in Seattle, and what that was all about!

I think every one of us was pretty bummed to see him get injured this year
Loved watching that guy, always thought he was a very good FB, very underrated as well.
Yes, agreed with you too.
He is very valuable, and has made a huge impact with the Eagles already.
Last year, he was Pro-Bowl and All-Pro, so he was recognized, this year it’s sad with the injury.

Well one good thing for Weaver is that he will get recognition on the east coast
that he deserves. One thing about pro-sports here in “South-east Alaska” is that dominant athletes don’t typically get the accolades, awards and recognition they deserve due to lack of exposure to the east coast due to time-zone differences, lack of media coverage (small market), and, often, poor teams.
One recent example is Cortez Kennedy not making the hall of fame. If he had played for most east coast teams, he would have likely been a shoe-in. It was good to see Felix get the Cy Young award this year as a rare counter-example.
Yeah, I know what you mean.
The east coast definitely gives exposure to players that sometimes don’t deserve it. It’s just the East Coast is more dominant in media. But, when players explode against East Coast teams, it blows them up too, lol.
