Post Your Hawk: Week 12

I have to put this up early this week because of the coming holiday. No injury report this time. All I know is that BMW's foot hurts, Colin Cole's ankle is still a boo boo, and Chester Pitts hurt his ankle last week and probably won't play on Sunday.

Star-divide

I can't say that last week came as much of a surprise. The Saints seem to be hitting their stride, and were clearly the superior team to the Seahawks last week. That being said, Matt is looking like Matt again, and Russell Okung is a damn talented lineman.

My Hawk of the week is Deon Butler. I think BMW's injury is going to slow him enough that the coverage starts focusing on Obomanu a little more, which frees up Butler for 5 catches for 65 yards and a TD. I think Matt spreads the ball around giving Butler the best day of any receiver on the team. Seahawks beat the Chiefs 23-20.

There were a couple of nice predictions last week. SeahawksPhan picked Obomanu to have a nice game, and Robert had Matt Hasselbeck as his Hawk. Surf Hawk is still edging me in the point prediction contest, diehard_82 is still going strong, and True Hawk For Life has now taken 3rd place from BeaverBird with a strong 6 point prediction last week. Here's the link to the spreadsheet: Link.

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.

Chiefs can do nothing once we take away the running game.

Seahawks offense rolls on: Hasselbeck 274 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 20-25. Seahawks win 30-7.

Hasselbeck, AKA SuperDome.

SuperDome tosses 26 of 39 for 333 yards and two touchdowns.

We win, because I’m an optimist, 27 to 24.

Are his stats accurate?

51 punts on the year. 19 inside the 20. Only 1 touchback.

Are we sure this is really John Ryan and not someone pretending to be him?

Hawks 31-14 in a route from the get-go.

If I'm going to root for an all-tools QB starting for my Seahawks it better be Jake Locker.

by The Manchild on Nov 24, 2010 11:19 AM PST reply actions

Pete Carroll.

He has big balls, and he reads opposing coaches like a book. No where on the team is there anything statistically impressive, not even impressive for a Seahawk. The Chiefs run OK but it doesn’t control the game. Cassel and Bowe get some yardage and a TD but otherwise play sloppy and don’t have much success. A couple turnovers make the Seahawk defense look better than they actually play.

There’s no pass rush, but the Seahawks passing is lethargic — only compared to the past couple weeks. The running game picks up modestly, maybe the only notable performance of the game.

But on both sides of the ball, and thanks to Mare and Leon on ST, the Hawks dominate start to finish, 33-13.

I'm taking the HasselHoff

For another 350+ yards and 2 TDS as the Hawks continue to air it out against another porous secondary.

Leon Washington

Its about time for him to win another game near singlehandedly.

Kick return TD, and couple more nice kick and punt returns mixed in give solid field position for the Hawks to once again squander into Mare field goals.
