Happy Thanksgiving.
Suh might kill Whitehead today.
Not when I was supposed to drive to Burien.

Maybe I'll move to Bellingham if I ever get a job.
Eh, either there or Canada.
by Coach Owens on Nov 25, 2010 10:08 AM PST up reply actions
I love ET
But there is no possible way Suh doesn’t win DROY.

Alanya's mother didn't want to drive in the snow/freezing rain.

Understandable.
The ice is more of a problem than the snow actually.

We were to about Centralia when ice started forming on the windshield
…and here I am watching football with no other plans.
by John Morgan on Nov 25, 2010 10:07 AM PST up reply actions
Wow, I'd say.
49ers were stupid to ever let go of this guy.
by John Morgan on Nov 25, 2010 10:09 AM PST up reply actions
And it looks like that Troy Smith bandwagon came to a halt
There’s almost no way they don’t draft a QB.

Well their gameplan for about 5 years running
Was “If Gore works, the offense works”.

Depends who the head coach is, I guess.
by John Morgan on Nov 25, 2010 10:22 AM PST up reply actions
If its a new coach
And it probably will be
I think it will be more likely that they bring in a Veteran.
Befoer Detroit's loss to Dallas
The Lions had a positive point differential.
I suffer from IBS, otherwise known as "Influx of Billick Syndrome".
That doesn't really mean anything.
Blowouts tend to help point differential.
by John Morgan on Nov 25, 2010 10:37 AM PST up reply actions
yes.
the blowout helped their point differential. That’s what I said.

Haynesworth when he tries
But he doesn’t so I give Suh the nod

But Vanden Bosch had the hit.

by SSreporters on Nov 25, 2010 10:17 AM PST up reply actions
That one was clean, but Suh came crashing in after Brady had let the ball go.
Didn’t really hit him though.
I hate Jim Mora so much
If we had tanked it about 3 weeks earlier and Ruskell was on this team we’d have had this man.

Suh and Mebane together. How awesome would that be

So what is the deal with Detroit. They seem to be playing really well in this game, but then next week they'll get beat by a bad team
They confuse me
Best 2-8 team ever.

Decided they need an elite defensive end.

Stafford has missed what, six games or something? Seven?
by Coach Owens on Nov 25, 2010 10:36 AM PST up reply actions
What I'm saying is that if Stafford had been in some of those close games that they lost (especially the game against
Buffalo), they could have at least a 5-5 record right now.
by Coach Owens on Nov 25, 2010 10:48 AM PST up reply actions
And that bullshit call against Chicago.

Opps, Better than Hill
But I don’t exactly watch the Lions regularly so I’m not the best to judge.
He's not better than Hill, but's 22
Quarterbacks peak in their late 20s.

Hill was decent in San Fran
Alex Smith was never.

The only reason you root for the Patroits...
…is if you have one of their fantasy players. And even then, there should be a gag reflex that prevents you from completing your root.
The only football teams I hate outright are the Steelers and the Cowboys.

Cards
anyone? Dockett… Antre Rolle, Warner… when they were Cardinals

As a rival and only kind of
but if they were moved to the AFC, I would stop caring about them altogether.
by John Morgan on Nov 25, 2010 10:48 AM PST up reply actions
I can dig it.
I feel the ol’ AFC West teams felt that way about the Seahawks.
by jubelthebear on Nov 25, 2010 11:23 AM PST up reply actions
I'm wondering how long the current NFC West is going to have to be together before a true, hated rival emerges for Seattle?
I have absolutely hated the Cardinals since 2007 (the year before they won the division).

by SSreporters on Nov 25, 2010 10:47 AM PST up reply actions
Brady is more "clutch" or whatever you want to say
But I’d take Manning as the better overall QB who is far more influential in the league than Tom.
I suffer from IBS, otherwise known as "Influx of Billick Syndrome".
by SSreporters on Nov 25, 2010 10:49 AM PST up reply actions
I don't think Brady has any special ability to win the big game
I think he has played for better overall teams.
by John Morgan on Nov 25, 2010 10:50 AM PST up reply actions
For as great as Manning has been he's struggled with pressure situations going all the way back to college.
So I wouldn't say Brady has a special ability to win big games
but Manning finds ways to lose them more than he should.
Think I would have to research that before I put any stake in it.
by John Morgan on Nov 25, 2010 10:54 AM PST up reply actions
It probably doesn't help that every game against the Patriots is considered a big game
and the Patriots excel at confusing quarterbacks. I think his first two implosions against the Pats in the playoffs were in inclimate weather as well.
I actually thought Manning turned the corner
When the Colts beat the Pats in ’05.
I suffer from IBS, otherwise known as "Influx of Billick Syndrome".

I think it's because Brady had a above average defense and Manning has nobody.

I think this year more than ever even without the injuries
Indy is a bad football team helped by a great QB.

Numbers
I think defenses do a lot more gameplanning on Manning than for Brady. With Brady all you need to do is hassle him and he’s average.
Manning is a brainiac and I want him as a head coach.

Bet y'all $50 dollas that if we don't re-sign Hasselbeck then the Lions will sign him to be a backup.
Backup Stafford.
Hass is better than Hill.
by Coach Owens on Nov 25, 2010 11:01 AM PST up reply actions
We've seen how good Hass can be when he's not being pressured on every play and when he has
a gameplan based around his strengths. He’s not 2005 good, but he’s not as bad as we thought either.

Notice how much better Hass performs in the game he's sacked 1 or fewer times.
Except for the Denver game (which is a tough place for any QB to play in), he’s played like his old self in those games.

We have goal-line backs
We just don’t have an offensive line.
Which has me thinking why don’t we lineup in a two-back set at the goal line and have Lynch plunge it up the guy instead of this “run left side” idea?
