I gave up since last year

How the hell is he still considered a Heisman candidate? Pryor just doesn’t get it. No way he makes it in the NFL.

Oh, and I’m somewhat happy Boise State lost. I think TCU is better than them and I’d love to see the Horned Frogs in the title game.

So next week I say go Beavers and go Gamecocks!

For a second there I thought you were talking about Jake Locker.

TP is 38-4 as a starter. Jake, well, he almost took his team to a bowl game. TP misses guys, has poor footwork and poor accuracy (not to mention an awful haircut from 1992), but he has a better shot than Locker at pro success. How can Jake even be on the radar for a high round pick?

Couldn’t agree more about Boise though.

by YoSoyMacho on Nov 27, 2010 7:43 PM PST up reply actions

Jake has gone backward in nearly every category this year.

But it’s a fair point that UW doesn’t provide him with a lot of help. I guess we’ll see the numbers this week vs. wazzu. Given that UW is as good / significantly better at almost every position, he should have great numbers, right?

OT: McDaniels caught cheating, Patriots-style

http://www.milehighreport.com/2010/11/27/1838881/broncos-release-statement-from-pat-bowlen

The Broncos filmed the Niners walkthrough in London. The guys at Arrowhead Pride seem to think this might be the reason behind Haley refusing to shake McDaniel’s hand at the end of the game.

Our Trades have been pretty bad

Tapp for Clemons and a 4th- worked out well but seriously one sided at the time
Wilson for a 5th
Whitehurst- need I say anymore
Sims for a 5th
trading for White and Vickerson- no real loss though
but then again they’ve kinda redeemed themselves with Washington and Lynch

The BCS formula already accounts for schedule strength

I’m no Boise or TCU apologist, but their schedules are already accounted for in the BCS formula.

And for all that week-in-week out garbage the SEC isn’t all that impressive against other BCS conferences, even in the years when Florida when they were winning titles.

Then there is that whole Mississippi loss to an FCS team. It’s not forbidden for CBS to even mention that.

I think it's required in the NFL

But as far as college unless the game is within 2 then you kick the extra point because the defense can still score two points.

Otherwise it’s moot.

Besides, what's the point?

Time’s up so it’s not like Cal could do anything.

by Coach Owens on Nov 27, 2010 3:30 PM PST up reply actions

If Huskies don't get that TD

People would be calling for Sark’s head.

by m_b on Nov 27, 2010 3:29 PM PST reply actions

Stupid isn't either

Not sure if that call was stupid or gutsy.

by m_b on Nov 27, 2010 3:35 PM PST up reply actions

The call worked out, so it was gutsy.

If they blow that play and thus lose the game, it’s a stupid call. Whether a play call is good or bad depends mostly on the outcome than on the actual play itself.

Oh look, a handy recap.

How do I know that LSU will win this.

by John Morgan on Nov 27, 2010 3:37 PM PST up reply actions

4th and 3 = 39 yard touchdown.

LSU have them right where they want them.

Locker made some massive plays

And Washington beat Cal in Cal with no time left and ended Jeff Tedford’s bowl game appearance streak.

TD Razorbacks!

Keep an eye out...

for RB Marcus Lattimore (freshman, so just for kicks and giggles) and the other WR Tori Gurley.

For Clemson, keep an eye on Bowers (DE) and maybe Jamie Harper (RB) as a late round prospect.

I haven't been impressed by Lattimore.

His best skill seems to be getting lots of carries.

by Nate Dogg on Nov 27, 2010 4:00 PM PST up reply actions

Kid has the whole package

He has more than few long runs this season. (The offensive line has basically no prospects.)

He also pass protects well and catches well.

His longest was 58, and that was against Troy.

Second longest was 40. He’s 5 yards and a cloud of dust, I admire how he’s always falling forward for extra yards but he doesn’t look to do much else.

by Nate Dogg on Nov 27, 2010 4:13 PM PST up reply actions

40 is the standard?

Wow. He’s only had 2 games with a single digit long run. He’s avg 16 yards per catch.

well, compared to who exactly?

Compared to most high profile backs?

Lattimore isn’t a bad back, I just don’t know why he gets so much love when he’s essentially the same player Chris Polk is.

by Nate Dogg on Nov 27, 2010 4:22 PM PST up reply actions

Chris Polk was not good as a freshman

And Lattimore is already a far superior receiver.

Granted, SEC players get hyped more than others but not many players step right onto the field and are very good in every phase.

Did you watch the Alabama game?

Most people in the Carolina’s are amazed at him.

The Apple Cup

is gonna be one crazy game. The hate that flows through so many veins will take shape amongst the golden fields of the Palouse, in the form of red- and white-clad young men. They will fight viscerally. For one, the contest is for the ultimate victory, but that cannot outstrip what it means for the other: Victory or death.

This wooden soul of mine, it cannot ever climb from places it has fallen: In between where light can shine. It never falls in line, it barely has a spine, like branches severed from the vine. Like it was faulty by design.
