What jersey should I get?
Hey guys, I'm an irregular reader here at Field Gulls, but I had a question I was wondering if you guys could help me with. I'm not a huge fan, but I don't really have any Seahawks apparel, and I wanted to get a jersey. The problem is, I can't decide what player to get. I figure you could go with Hasselbeck, but he's old and I guess it would only be for the nostalgia. I want the jersey to still be relevant in a few years if you know what I mean, so I was hoping you guys could help me pick out a good player for one. I had some ideas like Lofa Tatupu or Earl Thomas, but I think you guys could give me a better idea. Thanks for your time.

I'd wait to see if we sign BMFMW
If we do, choice made. Otherwise the only obvious choice is Kelly Jennings.
All about personal preferences, but I think all three options you brought up are good choices.
Hass will still be relevant in three years as the team’s all-time greatest QB. (Hopefully not because he’s starting anymore though!) I second Finnegan’s suggestion of BMW if we re-sign him!
I wouldn't go Hasselbeck-- there are too many of them out there.
Personally, I’d go old school with Kenny Easley myself, it isn’t as common, and will never go out of style.
My next choice would be a Boz, believe or not. Again, iconic, even if with an asterix.

I meant "old school" by wearing the bright blue.
Walt will always be the dark blue in my head.

If I went bright I'd probably go Largent, but that'd probably qualify for "too many of them out there" as well.
Not enough Curt Warner and John L. Williams retro jerseys being worn by fans, in my opinion
Or Jacob Green or Big Tez (maybe him most of all). Easley and Largent are a tad overbooked when it comes to the retros, although you can’t go wrong with any of these guys.
Thomas, Okung, custom "BMFMW"

I'd love to see some BMW jerseys....but I'm a little uncomfortable with #17 jerseys being worn without "Krieg" on the back.
Not that I have a problem with the number Beamer picked out…just a few reservations I would have wearing such a jersey, being a long-time Seahawks fan and all.
I'm surprised that would bother anyone.
It’s been 20 years, man.

I wasn't really serious
But Dave Krieg’s career in Seattle shouldn’t be forgotten, either.
It’s also possible that Beamer will get a “real” WR jersey (80-89) after this season.
I think it's cool when people's build roughly matches the jersey they have.
If you’re 5’8", an Okung jersey would look weird. Same with Trufant on an overweight, over six feet guy. I’m about 6’0 180 and wear a Carlson. If you want someone awesome who’s probably gonna be around for a good while, I’d go Thurmond, Thomas, Okung, maybe Carlson, or BMW if/once he signs with Seattle. And yes, I think Thurmond’s gonna at least moderately studly.
This wooden soul of mine, it cannot ever climb from places it has fallen: In between where light can shine. It never falls in line, it barely has a spine, like branches severed from the vine. Like it was faulty by design.
John Carlson is 6'5", 250 lbs!
The similarity of your builds is like comparing a ping-pong ball to a wrecking ball.
I give ya props for repping the team though.

Well I mean proportionally...
eh…nvm.

I'd be screwed. Too damn skinny.
Even “little” Kelly Jennings has 30 pounds on me.
If Whitehurst were ever our starter I’d have to get his jersey since I rock the long hair.
Early xmas present
My brother got me a Williams 17 jersey. Wish I had got a custom one now that i read you guys – BMFMW 1. A throwback to the preseason would nostalgia forever….God i hope we sign the shit out of Big Mike.
2/3 of the world is covered by water. The rest is covered by Marcus Trufant.
Niiiice dude.
Merry Christmas. I can’t wait to have Locker to Williams or Ponder to Williams.

Go with one that fits your build.
I’m 5’8 180 lbs, so I bought an Earl Thomas jersey. He will also be around for a while (Im hoping his entire career). I want a Williams one, but it’s not a guarantee he will be re-signed. I own a Trufant,Tatupu,Kerney,Hasselbeck,Thomas, and my girl has an Aaron Curry one. I hope to get a Seahawks Locker one to go with my Black Huskies Locker jersey!!

Uh, yeah.
I’m pretty sure none of us are built like them.

Not until he resigns.

How about... old school bright blue jerseys...
Bobby Joe Edmonds 30
Fredd Young 50
Rufus Porter 97
Joe Nash 72
Jeff Bryant 72
Dan Doornink 33
Paul Skansi 82
Doornink and Skansi have the benefit of being “Washington boys”, and unique last names so people will know who they are. That’s a bonus with an “old school” jersey. I.E., it’s too bad Rufus Porter wasn’t named Porter Rufus, because that’d be an awesome jersey and name…

Get a Custom with BEAST MODE 24 on the back
Earl Thomas and Okung are the only safe bets to be around next year so they’re good options. Red Bryant wouldn’t be a bad idea either. Or you could also go for an attention seeking provacative jersey with LOCKER 10 on the back
Old school is always a good way to go.
How about BMW or Mebane, if either of them sign long term? BMW is a great story and Mebane is an awesome talent. If anything, having a Mebane jersey would show people you actually pay attention to the team and not just buy the QB’s jersey.
Personally, I have a home Mack Strong, and if BMW gets re-signed, then I’m getting his.
As was mentioned above, there’s always ways to rep the awesome guys of old, like John L Williams, Tez, or Curt Warner.
