Sunday Morning Bloody Mary: Links and Game Thread
Here's a handy collection of pertinent news items for week 16. As I am tired and it is the day after Christmas and this is all I can manage this morning. Perhaps I would have more vim if I were to drink alcohol in the AM.
Rashad Jennings is easy money for those still competing in fantasy football. The Redskins field one of the worst run defenses in the NFL, and have lost Albert Haynesworth and LaRon Landry to suspension and injury, respectively. I just added him myself, so take that Phildopip.
The Sunday Night game, Vikings at Eagles, has been postponed. It will now air on Tuesday. That sucks. The night game has been crucial to me getting the bad taste of sloppy, lopsided football out of my mouth.
ARock offered this flow chart earlier in the week. San Francisco and St. Louis are playing for a chance to win the NFC West. I want to be interested, but I am pretty sure my interest will only last as long as the football is worth watching.
This is a game thread.

Who's playing worse football right now: Clements or Trufant?
Because I’m not sure what the hell kind of move that was by Clements, but I’m damn sure it wasn’t football
Earl Thomas = God-send
Nate Clements...
…‘cause Trufant isn’t playing right now.

As far as throwing WR's go
Antwaan Randle El, Issaiah, Stanback, Seneca Wallace
Amendola doesn’t really rank high
Are we going to see an attempted pass of 20 yards or more by either Smith or Bradford?

Thanks to Arizona winning last night

SF – 6-10
SEA – 6-10
ARI – 6-10

I remember getting so irate when Ruskell & Co passed on Jennings
Jennings was one of the last picks in the 7th round. The hawks picked Morrah and Reed right before him. None of those players has done much in the NFL, but I bet Jennings has a great game today. Probably better than the Hawks RBs
I hate to seem rash on Carlson because he's being asked to do many things
But I’ve felt this way for a few weeks now too. For some reason, Morrah really looks fast and good catching the ball. Maybe because he’s fast and a good athlete…

By all rights, the only team that’s hands down better off with a playoff game is SF. St. Louis and Seattle could probably better use the high picks in each round.

If you're one of those people who think that coaching doesn't matter
I submit the SF 49ers.
The notion that coaching doesn’t matter is, I think, mostly a restricted range problem. There are few truly bad or truly great coaches. So yeah, you can kind of draw them from a hat. But sometimes you get a truly awful coach, like Singletary, and you see how it can be a big deal.
Coaching is a bit like catching in major league baseball. It seems like it doesn’t matter because almost no one has a truly incompetent defensive catcher.

Troy Smith got SOOO close to the trifecta on that play!
Got picked AND got decked trying to make a tackle. Man, getting hit after the throw would havebeen PERFECT.
Damn, I guess that got tipped.
I don’t care, though… how do you not catch that?
Edward Jones Dome is really quiet for a "playoff" game
I swear I’ve had masturbatory sessions that are louder than that.
Sanchize overthrows a dude 5 yards away.

He coaches exactly how an irrational fan would.

I'd watch that

To be specific
You need to wave one hand back and forth. Just holding it up could be to block out the sun, much like Golden Tate did back a few weeks ago.
Nope, you just need to wave one hand in the air. Which Ginn did.
If you just stick it up really quick then officials sometimes don’t call it. At the same time, it’s a penalty if you run after a fair catch.
