If the NFL were run like the NCAA, the winner of the NFC West would play the last place team in the NFC East in the Big Game at the End of the Season.

Draft stock probably dropped a ton with injuries this season but he was a RB I had my eye on at the start of the season.

Looking forward to Auburn crushing South Ghettolina this afternoon.
Of course I’ll be working till 5, so I’ll probably only catch the second half.

I feel your pain.
My buddy is a having a massive BBQ for Civil war this afternoon and I’m stuck at work till 4.
i just have an illogical passion for any an all sec losses
I never seem to learn that even if the sec underdog wins that that same underdog is automatically better than all other teams. I have to get my head around these undeniable truths eventually right?

I have no love for the Ducks
but would welcome seeing anyone except Ohio State in the championship.

Ive never been really into college football so I pretty much just root for the PNW
except the cougars. I can’t stand them. I just can’t seem to form and emotional attatchment to any specific team the way I have with the hawks.
CBS right now!
Gus Johnson on a close basketball game.

Wow, a somewhat legitimate bowl!
I just saw the list of bowl games on the bottom line of CBS, holy crap some of these are random.
They all look the same to me.
The Meineke More Football Bowl! The Capital One More Football Bowl! The Alamo More Football Bowl!
There were a ton after new years that looked even more random.
Plus there is something called the Beef O Brady bowl.
Seattle has to draft Casey Matthews

Thank you! Strengthening my argument.

He's 6'0, 235 lbs
Patrick Willis is 6’1, 240 lbs.
I want to draft a Matthews for the sake of drafting one. Plus our linebackers are mediocre.

uniform dorkery note
I’m digging the matte finish on the Oregon State helmets.
Sports and Bremertonians. Because we can.
and holy god
I think Oregon’s helmets just made my head explode. A horizontal stripe pattern? Really?
Sports and Bremertonians. Because we can.
Oregon State's unis are pretty nice
Oregon’s would be an abomination in the XFL.

Very cool
It looks as if they just scored a Harley Davidson sponsorship…

for the record
I think the first time I saw a matte-finish helmet was when Team Japan used them in the World Baseball Classic.

my final input on this topic
Jonas Hiller of the Anaheim Ducks currently rocks a black matte goalie mask, with a golden duck foot being the only non-black thing on the mask.
Sports and Bremertonians. Because we can.
Perfect drive for Oregon State
7:30 of game clock and a touchdown. Just get 5 more of those and a win is possible!
SC replies!
Garcia is looking pretty darn good on the first drive.

The results feel inevitable
So I’m watching Washington run Texas Tech ragged.
Cam Newton = Heisman Trophy and it should be clear cut.

I have no idea
They’re 5-3 this year but they still have Mike Singletary.
This team is wicked fast, Washington needs to just develop inside scoring instead of missing from point blank.

Thats two stops the South Carolina offense has blown.
They’re probably about out of opportunities to get back in this.
Doink.
What a drop.

That hit by Quizz was awesome. He isn't mornally all that physical right?
Like a shifty Chris Johnson style with great high-end speed?
LUCK OR NEWTON FOR 2010!!!
I am not interested in Mallett.

we need to lose a few more games to even have a shot at either of those two
so I yeah, I guess it’s possible
Trade a sh*t ton of future picks
To move up.

naahhh
no need. There’ll be lots of good QBs to choose from
Hell maybe we can get Syd'Quan Thompson as well.

I've been really surprised to see how high some people have Cam going.
Both Cam and Locker look like late first round guys at best to me.
Am I just a homer in still dreaming of Locker?
Luck will be a Panther or Bill. Newton scares me. (For the record, Locker is just as scary of a prospect in my eyes as Newton. I just know I’d be more accepting of watching Locker fail than anyone else.
this draft will be a franchise QB bonanza
and there are some worthy 2nd tier guys too (Ponder, etc). In fact I’m pretty sure John’s got his DVR set for the FSU game. Maybe we take a stab at a top DE and get a QB in the 2nd.
With said QB bonanza and the FO being open to a 1st round QB do we give Whitehurst the Kolb treatment?
And Hass the McNabb treatment?
I'd resign Hass... but I wouldn't give him anything more than..
a year or two guaranteed.
someone needs to mentor our young stud QB
whoever that may be
there's not a lot of objective data for a lot of football stuff
but would you agree that Trent Dilfer was a positive force behind Hass in his early years? Hass is a positive sort of guy and would probably be a great resource on the sideline for a young QB. He can play too if the shit hits the fan.
Agreed.
My boss, an Arkansas alum, glowed about Mallett all day long today. Any time I’ve seen him play, he looks pretty “meh.”

somebody compared him to Drew Bledsoe
if that’s his upside I’d say no thanks
I think Cam Newton would be amazing in Jeremy Bates' offense.

Kellen Moore
Would Moore’s size keep him from being a good qb in the NFL or would he be a suprise force to be reckoned with? Or when/ if he is drafted will he be a number 3 qb? Fa?

#3 QB
Just like all the other Boise State QBs.
I suffer from IBS, otherwise known as "Influx of Billick Syndrome".
Thats going to be a hell of a game.
And theres no reason to think that Oregon is going to be any better at slowing him down that anyone else has.
Watching Oregon, their safeties aren't great tacklers
I’ve seen guys like Polk, Quizz, and various receivers run them over repeatedly. It hasn’t mattered much, but boy I like the idea of them trying to be the last line of defense against Cam. He’s bigger and stronger than any of them.
Bigger, stronger and probably faster.
They’re also a very aggressive defense, aren’t they? Seems like they could get burned pretty badly on the read option and all of the play action they run off of it.
They play off their offense
It’s aggressive because they believe they can score a whole bunch anyway and they take chances (and also, there aren’t a lot of offensive juggernauts beyond Oregon in the Pac-10).
Newton burns blitzes and aggression with regularity so I’m interested to see what Oregon does defensively.
They mentioned it in the broadcast
He has ‘limited access to the Auburn athletic program’ and evidently doesn’t want to be seen anywhere near Cam (at least on the football field) right now
I wonder if Wulff will be back?
He has some young talent but man has WSU sucked since Price.
Punks jump up to get beat down.
He should probably get another year unless they've got someone else lined up.
Doba was worse than Willingham, Gilby and Neuheisal combined. He wasn’t even recruiting at the end.
Har har har
Get it? It’s funny because soccer players dive.
Can someone explain to me or give me a few good links about why the NFL will likely be locking out its players next year?
WTF! This sould be an Apple Cup related thread pic!

Sigh
Didn’t think my Gamecocks would beat Auburn with a title game on the line, but also didn’t think they’d hang 50 on us either.

He's awful a lot
The offensive line is not good either; one of the least talented in the league.

Classic guy...
who was highly touted just because he’s from Florida, but he has mediocre talent and his decision making has progressed from unwatchable to just regular bad.

I don't know, he was decent this year.
I thought he had taken a step forward, but boy did he look like good ol’ Stephen Garcia today.
It'd be hard to say he didn't improve...
but so much of that is tied to the development of Jeffrey, the emergence of Lattimore (and to a lesser degree Gurley).
His load is a bit lighter than it has been at any time, and to his credit he’s matured some. Some people are mistake-prone, and he’s mistake-prone. He’s made fewer crushing mistakes this year in a watered-down SEC East.

Washington goes to the Holiday with a win to play Mizzou?

Sun Bowl
Don’t forget that the Holiday bowl got downgraded this year as well.

Rose Bowl*
Alamo Bowl
Holiday Bowl
Sun Bowl
Maaco Bowl
Rotating Sponsor Bowl

Apparently Newton is always loose, and can be seen laughing on the side-lines and that's a good thing.
Wonder if Derek Anderson thinks that’s fine.
I take everything back. I am on the Netwon band wagon
because of this video
awesome. wasn’t watching the game, so I’m sorry if you all already saw that.
Throwing into double coverage when he still had time in the pocket.
The only thing that saved him from getting picked there was his own inaccuracy.
Not trying to be an apologist and throwing into double coverage is never good.
But it looked like Goodwin had a shot to run under it if he didn’t get tangled up with one of the DBs while the ball was already in the air. I agree about him still having time too.
They have a couple guys they're redshirting that should be pretty good don't they?
The guy they got from UCLA and a highly ranked safety? And losing Foster will hurt less than losing Butler and Teo’Neshiem.
i dont know why
but i got a bad feeling bout this game… Cougars got some momentum and confidence. Huskies better pick it up
Locker --> Seahawks = Superbowl
Yes! Big stop there for the huskies
