So.......... We're Facing Alex Smith..... Again.

One way another we knew we were going to be facing a "Smith", it wouldn't have even suprised me if Morrisey was the annointed starter for the 49er's this Sunday.

So Seahawk/ Fieldgull Nation, what are your thoughts about the 49ers opting to start Alex over Troy against us this coming Sunday?

I have to say one of my fondest memories is of Rocky Bernard Jumping on Alex Smith During a sack resulting in Alex Smith separating his Shoulder. I believe this dates back to Mike Nolan's coaching tenure with the 49ers, but I'm getting old, so everything seems a little hazy.

It will help that the 49er's are without Gore, and their kicker for Sunday will be Jeff Reed. (Boo! Former Steeler from Superbowl XL!!!)

However, what's the outlook gong into this one? Will the momentum created in the second half (partially credited to Walter Jones perhaps?) be enough to yet again trounce the 49ers on their own turf?

What in your opinion will it take to handily bury the 49ers? Which component/unit/player of this team needs to step up the most this coming Sunday? What are the pitfalls that The Seahawks will need to avoid? Should the plan be to Pressure Smith? or just to let him throw and hope that ET & Tru are ready to pick off a couple? Are Westbrook and Dixon capable of carving us up the way Gore was typically capable of doing so? Or will the return of Colin Cole be enough to return us to a top 10 team at stopping the run?

I REALLY want this game, I want us to be in the position of power come week 17. I'm hoping it doesn't come down to the final game, (as I'd love to have the division clinched by that point already and have it being a meaningless game), but it seems that the Rams are starting to gain a little Momentum, and we'll need some help from their competitors in the coming weeks if we hope to have it locked up before then.

Let me know your thoughts,

GO 'HAWKS!
