That hit is so fun to watch
He doesn’t just tackle Munnerlyn, he launches himself right through him, dragging Munnerlyn along with like how a semi truck would drag a cardboard box it’d run over, flapping around the wheel a few times, before ultimately flying free and laying demolished on the side of the road.
Golden Tate almost became collateral damage
The sensation of your feet involuntarily leaving the ground and your upper body moving towards it is scary as hell.
Good job on the GIF.
I just realized
while hitting Lieutenant Munnerlyn(he was demoted after this hit) Russel actually has so much momentum he even changes Golden Tate’s trajectory….Golden looks like a puppy trying to tackle a different puppy that is simultaneously being tackled by a Grizzly bear

They look like freshman in their first practice compared to Okung
At least that’s how I looked during tackle drills with the varsity when I was a freshman.

I was one of the few guys big enough and mean enough to line up against Mike Sellers in middle school.
I was 5’11" 165ish. He was 6’ 215 or so.
It was the old man among boys.

Wow, you were big in middle school.

Mennerlyn seemed to have taken a beating this game.
There were one or two times that he didn’t call for a fair catch on a return and just got leveled.

Didn't notice that live, but have noticed 4 other uncalled blocks in the back the past 3 games.
One of them was I think Kennard Cox on a gunner on Leon’s big return that got slapped down at the end by the punter. Didn’t seem completely crucial to springing Leon, but it was a block in the back to me, although momentum driven.
Maybe since lots of them are momentum driven or just generally impeding activity that doesn’t pose the physical danger that the rule was designed to prevent, maybe they’re loosening up on that.

I would like to see Okung
play on the d line. Maybe Pete could rotate him in for a couple of snaps in the name of competition.
True that, but...
Oh the dream of Okung as a 2-way…
Keep your dirty fetishes off the blog, bub.
On a serious note, Okung would be a dominant DT — a bit tall, but oh, so strong.
A-W-E-S-O-M-E!
Pretty fucking sweet and toootally worth the interception considering the outcome.

Thanks for taking the time Scruffy… this has cured my Thursday blues.
He is the second coming of Steve Largent.
If I'm going to root for an all-tools QB starting for my Seahawks it better be Jake Locker.
Here's a youtube clip with Largent's hit. It starts with the play before, which helps highlight the mood of Seahawks games against the broncos back then.
Favorite Hawk video ever. I watched it to get hyped for the Bronco's game this year.
Fail.
If I'm going to root for an all-tools QB starting for my Seahawks it better be Jake Locker.

I've been watching for 20 minutes now.
It’s still satisfying.

If you're taking requests,
I wouldn’t mind seeing Forsett’s spin move on his 19-yard run just before Lynch’s long TD.
I tried rewinding and watching this over and over with the game 'tape', but wasn't very successful.
This, on the other hand, is wicked cool… thanks for taking the time to put it together! I would love to have been a fly on the wall when the team watched this game film… I’m sure Tate got some good ribbing for being laid out like a rag doll by Munnerlyn’s carcass!
Heads up . . .
Sent this to Okung on twitter, he RT it and thanked me. So by extension he is thanking you Scruffy!

I can’t believe the dude was able to get up directly after though.
Okung! Smash!
Damn! That is one hell of a tackle.
textbook
this video (if it hasn’t already) needs to be shown to our defense.
Thank you!

That's like an Orca hitting a Seal.
You kinda feel pity for the poor seal, but hey. The Orca’s gotta eat.

Love it..
but also loved seeing him jump up with excitement after the tackle. Maybe he asked Hass to throw an interception so he could blast someone!
