OT: Trolls and March Madness

I was in a local park about two weeks ago playing catch with my wife. Alanya is petite but a natural athlete and she's got a great spiral. We use an NFL sized ball, so it's a wonder that she can throw so well, but that's my girl. Anyway, it had been a few months and I think we were both just trying to avoid injury. She stabs at the ball when she catches and invariably jams a finger. So much for my coaching-up.

We had been there about 20 minutes when this six or seven year old kid riding a bike came round the paved path that surrounds the park.

"Needle dick. Needle dick. Fuck my ass. Needle dick. Fuck my ass."

It was obvious the kid was desperate for attention. I looked over at his family, or what I assume was his family, and there were five kids, all rapid fire births, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and a young couple-maybe younger than Alanya and I.

We played on. The kid circled round and near us again.

"Fuck my ass. Needle dick. Bukkake. Bukkake. Needle dick."

I turned to Alanya and said, "that kid is going to be trolling Field Gulls in a few years."

Star-divide

I have not watched a single college basketball game since last year's tournament.  Can anyone fill me in on the angles and rooting interests? UW is first for me, and then I usually pull Pac-10

UW has been maddeningly inconsistent

Eminently beatable some nights, totally dominant on others. Cal can absolutely shoot the ball, but struggles when the 3’s don’t fall. It may be a 1 bid year for the Pac 10, possibly 2 at the most.

Outside of the Pac I think Syracuse is a fun favorite to root for Orange b-ball is all those poor bastards in upstate New York have to live for, and also because Andy Rautins has been on the team for 12 years. Either Michigan State or OSU will win the Big Ten with unwatchable ball. Kentucky is pretty dominant, and fun to root against under the helm of slimeball Calipari. Gonzaga once again fields a U.N. team.

UW is horrifying to watch on the road

I’m a Romar fan and he’s been fantastic for U-Dub but way too many times this team craps itself against the bigger teams, especially on the road. Like the Seahawks, too many of U-Dub’s road losses have been blowouts. Huskies lack a great shooter and are still trash at the free throw line and it cost them the Texas Tech game.

Right now Washington’s best chance of avoiding the NIT is winning out (beating Oregon and Oregon State) and at a minimum get to the Pac-10 conference championship game in the tournament.

New Mexico is ranked in the top ten in basketball. I can’t fathom that.

by SSreporters on Mar 1, 2010 12:53 PM PST up reply actions

Agreed. They need 4 more wins minimum

And every road game is an opportunity for me to unleash 30-75 expletives. Especially when Matthew Bryan-Chris-Wilcox-Amanning fails to secure a rebound 1 minute after a fastbreak dunk + shimmy dance.

Only way Pac-10 gets more than one team is if Cal doesn't win the conference tournament.

Otherwise ASU and UW are unlikely to make it.

by SSreporters on Mar 1, 2010 3:30 PM PST up reply actions

I don't buy that, one of UW or ASU will get a bid

Most likely ASU. Theres no way the selection committee only takes one from a major conference.

by Nate Dogg on Mar 1, 2010 4:42 PM PST up reply actions

Perception is everything.

If there were 7 or 8 teams from the Big 10 or ACC duking it out with records in conference similar to the Pac 10 this year, the talk would be about how deep and talented the league is that every team can compete on every given night.

But because it’s the Pac10, it’s seen as every team having weaknesses instead of a balanced conference.

Not that I don’t disagree, the Pac10 IS down this year, but it isn’t terrible like some “experts” are saying.

Bird Law in this country isn't governed by reason.

by Tyler Jorgensen on Mar 1, 2010 5:54 PM PST up reply actions

It is terrible

When the best two wins are (and only “quality” wins): UW over A&M at home and USC over Tenn. at home, we’ve got a problem. Cal has 0 quality wins, ASU has 0 quality wins. The pac-10 did nothing to deserve a good rep nation wide in the non-conference season.

by Brian Floyd on Mar 2, 2010 11:34 PM PST up reply actions

I don't fully disagree.

I’m mainly just pointing out that if another “Power Conference” had such issues, it would be chalked up to “battling it out in conference” whereas when such issues occur in the Pac10 it means the conference is down.

Bird Law in this country isn't governed by reason.

Ouch.

Sonics were the NBA for me, but I was always more a college guy.

By the way, my high school (Onalaska) is going into the State A tourney in Yakima undefeated. They’re a darkhorse at best coming from a weak league/district, but I’ll be catching Wed.’s games.

The two best sporting days in the country— Day 1 (and 2) of the NCAA Tourney (which are of course the best televised) and locally something you wont ever see on TV= Day 1 of any high school state basketball tourney.

Everyone still has dreams of a championship/trophy/even just a game upset against a favorite.

You get to sit in the stands and just watch basketball all day long. Kids playing their asses off for their teammates, their school, and in the small school tourneys, for their whole towns. It’s truly great entertainment with a heart.

I've already been forced to place two facebook status updates based solely on people in Washington's driving.

Been back in state a month. This whole, “keep right except to pass” thing just doesn’t work at all. Also, you lose the right to be upset when i pass you in the right lane and then slide back in front of you when you never change lanes and go below or right at the speed limit with nobody in front of you.

Also of note while driving—- I got flipped off today.

It was a lady. I merged close to her— I was about 6 feet from her back bumper. Then switched lanes and went beside her.

Did I mention this happened at 4:00 pm in Olympia when there was a small gap between her and a semi behind her. It was the only place to sneak in…

Oh yeah, and she took the time to flip me off with her “driving” hand while her other hand was keeping her cell phone next to her ear.

Bitch.

Look, maybe I was close, maybe tailgating briefly, but you are breaking a law too, cell phone lady. I didn’t flip you off for driving with one hand while talking did I?

I’ve also never seen anyone with such a complete lack of ability to dissemble information.

He's just so bad for the industry.

He doesn’t want anything innovative. He wants easily accessible IP that he can exploit every single year into a stack of sequels. He has even said this himself. He is the Anti-Christ of developers. I remember reading an article on him where he basically said he had no interest in video games, he just realized that it was a growing market, and so invested heavily into it. He went on to say that his goal was to take all the fun out of video game production, and create an atmosphere of focused depression. Or something along those lines.

I have a great story about a penectomy performed in my ED last week!

I won’t relay it if people don’t want, it can be a little…uh…uncomfortable. But there is a good lesson involved about the most dangerous of heterosexual intercourse positions.

by thebyron on Mar 3, 2010 9:36 PM PST up reply actions

You would be surprised how many males break their penises with this position.

Best case scenario: Your tunica albuginea tears. You get massive swelling, blood leakage. They open you up, skeet your Cash n’ Prizes with sutures, and in a few months you can pop a b again.

Sometimes: Not only the t. albuginea tears, but also the corpora cavernosa. You can no longer get an erection without the use of a hydraulic or pneumatic pump operated manually. You may even develop Peyronie’s Diesease (bent penis).

In this instance: Dude ripped it up something fierce, but luckily he got his business sutured up quick. He tried having sex before he was fully healed and the stitches were out. Infection. Penectomy. Sans penis.

I’ve seen 4 broken dongs and I’ve been in the ED for a little over a year. Every single time the culprit has been….Reverse Cowgirl: The greatest of positions. I can tell you about GBS too. I’m not kidding, it means Gay Bowel Syndrome.
