Pete Carroll on Jimmy Clausen
From a Q and A with Eric Williams.
Q: Jimmy Clausen talked about how it down to you guys and Notre Dame when he came out, was it that close?
Carroll: "Sure, it really was. It was either/or. I’ve told these guys, I watched Jimmy throw since he was a ninth grader. That’s how far back I go, he was 13 when I watching that guy play, and I watched all of his film every year and know the family and all of that and recruited him all the way through the process. And it came down to – he won’t say it – but Mark Sanchez or Notre Dame. And so he made a great choice for himself and did the best he could with it."

You're obviously dense John.
Walter Jones doesn’t know if he’s going to retire.
Nor does he have a timeline as to when he’ll decide.
Carroll could go either way on the subject.
If there is no LT, one will have to be appropriated somehow.
There are no specific plans to make roster moves.
Budgeting rules cannot be discussed…
Those are only the first few questions, and they are chalk full of information!
I figured it was worth posting since Carroll mentions following Clausen all the way back to 9th grade.
Might mean nothing, just thought it was an interesting tidbit.
Glad you did
I was just amazed how little was said, but not amazed the reporter never bothered to ask a follow up question.
And I don't blame Williams or think he would have gotten a compelling reply
Just the nature of sports reporting.
Sanchez or ND
That mean, he’da backed up Sanchez? Not that that means Sanchez is a better prospect, but is that what he was saying?
