Demaryious Thomas GT
Two questions for you John, do you have access to GT game tape? If so, would you be willing to break down Demaryious Thomas for us? He seems to be a very intriguing prospect (in the mold of CJ a little shorter and perhaps a bit slower) regardless of the foot injury just based on his highlight reels on you tube, (he seems to play the ball exceptionally well at its highest point) understandably that doesn't paint the whole picture. Looking forward to seeing something if possible and as always appreciate it.

Based on nothing more than his name
Demaryious = AWESOME

I'll see what I can do.
I do have tape on Demaryius, in case Seattle targeted Morgan, but I am probably going to hold off on receivers until the Brandon Marshall situation is resolved.
Whats your gut feeling on him?
He looks otherwordly and was shockingly productive in Georgia Techs offense but I can’t decide if thats impressive or a knock on him.
Fair enough..
I can’t see them targeting two receivers with our first 3 picks, I hope.
Thomas, WR
25.1 yards per catch, try and find another receiver in this draft with a better average than that……none come even close. A downfield threat that would open up the offense, improve the running game and help pass pro. I think he is being overlooked because of his broken foot. If there at #40 (he should be) he would be a good alternative to Marshall at much less cost as well as concern about the continuous off-field problems that Marshall has had. Another WR of somewhat similar talents although slightly less explosive that may be there at #101 is Erick Decker – check him out.

His yards per catch reflect the Tech offense more than Thomas.
Demaryius ran almost exclusively deep routes, which is part of the reason scouts wonder if he can be a consistent receiver in the pros. A broad comparison might be Chris Chambers.
Chris Chambers?
I think maybe in proven skills but I never thought of chambers as physical at all also he always seemed to be a poor blocker. Are you just pointing out purely their receiving skills?

On Thomas
I watched just about all the Tech games last year and the year before so I have seen a lot of Bebe (thats his nickname) Thomas..
Tech runs a triple option offense, so almost every play is a running/option play. The exception was long bombs to Bebe. These would typically become available when the opponent would commit to the run, leaving single coverage on Bebe. Its hard to think of how any player could have done better in the situation. Bebe would highpoint the ball and body out the smaller defender and make a big catch over and over.
What we don’t know is whether he can run short and mid range routes, if he can separate from receivers at all, and how he would deal with being more of a focus offensively..
mid-to-late round pick
Demaryius Thomas-WR-Player. Mar. 15 - 6:35 pm et.
NFL Network’s Steve Wyche reports that Georgia Tech WR Demaryius Thomas (broken left foot) still plans to hold a private workout on April 12. Thomas, who sat out the Yellow Jackets’ Monday Pro Day while still in a walking boot, plans to shed the brace and resume running next week. By holding a workout and showing he’s 100 percent before the draft, Thomas could perhaps secure a spot in the first round. He was running sub-4.4s before the injury. Mike Mayock thinks Thomas is a first-rounder regardless.
That just seems high.
I’ve seen him mocked in the second, and that seems high to me, too. I’m sort of thinking late second to third. But there’s always someone who jumps the gun because they fall in love with a guy. But first round would be awesome, because it will push one more “good” player to the Seahawks second-round pick.
