Does Quinn make any sense?
ESPN Article on possible suitors
Now that the Browns have signed Delhomme, they are shopping Quinn. I have no idea whether is lack of success in Cleveland was due to the lack of talent around him or with his true abilities but given the lack of QBs available I wonder if he should be considered? If you were Seattle, would you take a chance on him and try and make a trade? For what value?
Thoughts?

If we don't want to take Clausen, I'd have no problem trading for Quinn.
He’s 25, which is older than I would prefer, but he’s only started 14 games in his whole career, so I think it’s reasonable to say he’ll improve over what we’ve seen from him. He doesn’t have a great deep ball, but I think he might look better with some decent receivers. Butterfinger Braylon and Massaquoi aren’t exactly known for making QBs look good. I’m really not sure what the market for him is, but I would probably give up our 4th if and only if we don’t plan on taking a QB high in the draft this year or next.

I paid a good bit of attention to the Browns last season because I drafted Braylon Edwards for my fantasy league.
Braylon was not the problem. Quinn is terrible, and rarely had the zip or accuracy to get the ball to his receivers more than 10-12 yards downfield. As a result, the Browns’ passing offense looked a lot like ours: constant dump-offs, screens, short hooks and slants. Yeah, he’s young, but I don’t think his problems are fixable.
If we only have to give up a mid round pick
then it would open us to use 14 in a trade for Marsh and maybe take a LT at 6. That’s setting Quinn up for success, Hasselbeck can start off the season as a starter, with Quinn hopefully taking over the reigns at the bye week. Worst case scenerio, we wasted a 4th round pick and can draft a QB next year as Hasselbeck will probably be below-average but not TOO terrible statistically wise.
I like Quinn, so I'd give up #40.
But I don’t see why you wouldn’t take a chance with a third rounder if it was a possibility. He can’t be riskier than Tebow. And is Tebow’s character that much better than Quinn’s? Probably about a wash.
It’s really hard to judge Quinn’s performance since Cleveland is a bit of a train wreck, and like Randy Moss in Oakland, it’s tough to gauge how much weight a player’s performance holds in a black hole.
No.
I haven’t watched much of the guy, so I’ve gotta take the impressions of the Browns fans and they’re pretty unanimously convinced he’s not starter material. They were excited to get Seneca and a lot of them would rather Wallace started than Quinn. His stat line is also rather unimpressive. We can give them back the conditional seventh from next year, but if he’s a step down from Seneca then I don’t want any part of him.
I think Quinn can still be good
He has faced a merciless run of defenses, and so Holmgren shopping him seems premature. His first three opponents were Minnesota, at Denver and at Baltimore, then faced Baltimore again, kicked around Detroit, at Cincinnati, had another good showing against San Diego, hosted Pittsburgh, and then stunk it up against Kansas City.
Obviously, I wouldn’t overspend on someone that’s been pretty bad for most of his young career, but it’s a sensible gambit if the price is right.
Well, that depends a bit on Holmgren, because the less the better.
I figure as high as a fifth straight up, or something like a sixth or seventh and Hasselbeck. Or maybe do a conditional pick that can go high as the third.
I think that's within my line of thinking.
I’m interested to see what the team does with their QB’s. They’ve traded Wallace, which leaves them with Hasselbeck and Teel. They’re looking into Whitehurst and Anderson, with Quinn a possibility. They could draft a first round QB (Clausen? Bradford ought to be gone by 6) or a second rounder (Tebow?)
Since the quarterback is such an important position, I’m very eager to see what happens. Will Hasselbeck stay? Will he start? Is Teel a project worth continuing? Will Whitehurst/Anderson/Quinn show us something special? Can Clausen/Tebow become the future?
My hope is for success, no matter what they do. I know that might not happen. That makes me nervous.

I have a bad feeling about Bradford and Clausen...
I keep reading that both may be gone before our #6 pick. I’ve got my reservations on Clausen anyway, but the current “rumor” (whatever that is worth) has Shanahan considering picking Clausen at #4. That means if the Rams go Bradford with that first pick we might not have a choice but to see which QBs are there at #40.
I don’t think there is another QB worth the value at #14, let alone #6.
Rec'd for clearly and succinctly identifying the possibilities
and for expressing a very healthy sentiment as a fan.
Though they sink through the Sea, they shall rise again...Death shall have no dominion...
That just seems awful high to me.
With Seneca and now Shaun Hill being shipped out for 2011 seventh-round picks, and rumors flying about Quinn being actively shopped amidst Cleveland’s sudden QB glut, I’d think a sixth would be more than enough. (Caveat: this is the first offseason I’ve really followed closely, so draft pick value is still a somewhat nebulous concept.)
Quinn is headed to Denver

Bosh is a very good player, but Blazers will still embarrass Toronto tonight. Period.

I wonder what the conditional pick is?
Hillis, 6th rounder, and conditional?
If only we had Leonard Weaver back, we could’vepossibly traded him, a 6th rounder and a conditional for Quinn.
Hillis might be able to go to halfback instead of fullback...
I think this could be a good pick-up for them. I don’t know if there are any 6th round running backs that could pound the rock quite like Hillis, and they got rid of Quinn, who seems to be someone the mighty Walrus can’t work with. When Holmgren prefers Delhomme to Quinn, you have to wonder what that means about Quinn…
The conditional might not add up to much, though, because from what I’ve seen from Quinn so far, Orton ought to be the starter this year. Quinn, maybe in another year or two of McDaniels going Yoda on him.
