Seahawks, Chargers and ESPN all haven't confirmed the Whitehurst deal yet

Seahawkaddicts.com is saying "ESPN is scrolling that Seattle receives a 2010 3rd Round pick as part of the deal." Anyone hear anything else?

That'd be awesome.

I think I’m going to stop commenting on things until they settle down some. Just like Frankie Goes to Hollywood says, “relax.”

If we actually did get a 3rd rounder out of it, I’d be stoked. The trade would suddenly sound much shrewd-er. We’ll have to wait and see.

I sure hope there's more to the deal than what's been announced

I know I have been trying to be real optimistic about the new front office’s deals of late but I have to admit next year’s 3rd round pick is not even close to being a 20 spot move up in the 2nd round.

I don't know

I actually haven’t seen a damn thing on ESPN about Whitehurst. On ESPN.com the only stuff I have heard is about what has already been reported… I don’t think seahawkaddicts.com is that reliable but who knows since the trade hasn’t been officially announced.

Also if this were true

we would be giving the equivalent of the 91st overall pick, which is the Chargers 3rd round pick.

Basically, this is how the math works:

270 points
-136 points (the value of their third)
=134 points (which is mid way between their third round pick and the next pick)

God No

A scout said earlier that he’d be an easy 6th or 7th round pick if his helmet wasn’t orange

It just said that John Clayton as reporting

that the Seahawks received The Chargers 3rd round pick in 2011

Yeah

It’s weird and maybe someone missed typed it on ESPNEWS, but I have seen it twice now.

The Channel?

This is complete BS! All I keep seeing is the Ron Washingotn thing and the Derek Anderson thing and the Cliff Lee thing!

Yup, here was the original tweet 710 put out which backs up what I heard on the rado
John Clayton: Seahawks acquire Charlie Whitehurst from SD for 2011 3rd RD pick, swap 2010 2nd Rd picks. Then sign him for 2 yrs/$10 Mil. WOW

by BrianL on Mar 17, 2010 9:34 PM PDT up reply actions

Whatever

I guess I’m just being too hopeful, that we salvage a potentially shitty trade.

by Blake Jensen on Mar 17, 2010 9:45 PM PDT up reply actions

Ok, just saw it again on ESPNEWS

John Clayton’s name was attached to it..

by Blake Jensen on Mar 17, 2010 9:32 PM PDT reply actions

It says....

Seahawks close to acquiring QB Charlie Whitehurst from Chargers for swap of 2nd-round draft picks in 2010 and and Chargers’ 3rd round 2011 draft pick, John Clayton reports….

Sounds like that is more likely to be an error as the Chargers moving up in the current draft isn’t worth their 2011 3rd round pick and the equivalent of a current 3rd round pick

The ticker is wrong.

Here’s Sando’s writeup

The teams will swap second-round draft picks and the Seahawks will give up a third-round pick in 2011. The Seahawks have the 40th choice in the draft and the Chargers had the 60th.

Yeah

I figured it was wrong after I started scavenging the web for any news that agreed with the ticker. I found what Sando wrote earlier.

Weak...

The idiot typing up those tickers put ‘Chargers’ instead of ‘Seahawks’ for the 3rd round 2011 draft pick part…
