St. Louis may be offering their second rounder for McNabb?
So, what do you think? Is McNabb worth a high 2nd rounder? Would he have been a better pick-up for the Seahawks than Whitehurst (assuming a second rounder is indeed enough to snag McNabb?) Obviously, he's older but more accomplished. Would he be an upgrade over Hass in the short-term, and if so, would he be worth grabbing for the little time he'd be a starter?
This might be just a rumor, but I'm curious about what others think.

The 33rd and Atogwe.
I would do it, if I were the Eagles.
Feely behind McNabb again, HA!
I wouldn’t say it’s a bad move for the Rams, either. Chances are, Spagnuolo is a good coach, but with 1 wn last year, worst team all around in recent years, new ownership coming in, they have to have some kind of rebound now, to make anything work anytime soon. Else another GM & coach will come in and take a stab at it. So it’s not that McNabb is worth it, it’s that spending that capital on a short term rise can help establish continuity to build on, and sometimes good prospects don’t turn into good players unless the environment is good.
he doesn't have to many years left I'd imagine
but I would love to be able to watch him twice a year, I’ve always liked McNabb since I started watching more football(1999-2000). I’d almost find it comical if he ended up with the awful Rams though.
The Rams are more than 1 good/great QB veteran away from being able to compete
McNabb behind the Rams o-line will probably mean he’s out before week 7

Preseason.
Talents that I covet:
Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy, Sam Bradford, Mike Iupati, Golden Tate, Earl Thomas, and Freddie Barnes

I wonder if they got McNabb if they might enter the running for Brandon Marshall.
Either way, this could be good. If the Rams land McNabb which allows another team to draft Bradford, and assuming Clausen goes fairly high (and not to us), then we’ll have 3 teams out of the Locker sweepstakes next year (I’m assuming the Rams win enough games with McNabb to at least be out of the top 10 picks).
I’m not writing off the season yet, but if it does go bad, it will be nice to have as little competition as possible.

What?
McNabb’s contract is up after this year. If anything this could make the Rams an even bigger candidate for the Rams.

Should read:

What Chirp said....
Plus keep in mind that if they have McNabb for this year, and if he works out at all, it should push their draft pick out of range of being able to draft Locker. There might be competition to trade up, but if we’re the worst team without a real QB or a recent big investment in a rookie QB, then we’ll be in the best position to trade up and secure him because we’ll have the highest picks in each round to offer (except the third of course).

I would hate to draft ANY rookie QB with a top 10 pick because of how much it means shelling out.
Could you imagine how much more than $78M and $42M in guaranteed money would hurt the Seahawks when he becomes a bust? The only way I’d ever be for drafting Jake Locker is if there was a rookie contract system in place that limits their earnings.

I think it would be worthwhile for a contender that just needs a QB -- say for the Vikings if Favre retires.
But for the Rams? By the time they acquire enough surrounding talent, McNabb will be done. Dumb move for them I think.
Clayton calls bullshit on this one.
For what it’s worth, Clayton thinks it’s bullshit. His reasoning was pretty sound: the Rams haven’t even seen Bradford throw yet. Also, the Rams are rebuilding, and at best McNabb could get them a few extra wins. To what effect? He believes the Rams wouldn’t even ponder this until they see Bradford throw and they’re closer to the draft.
He makes some good points.
6/14/60. Sweet.
Could be.
It seems like a bad idea to do it this early, anyway.
Now the rumor is that the Raiders and Bills are “interested.” I think it’s possible they move him before the end of the second day of the draft, but if it happens in March, or even early April, I’d be surprised.
Pick #33 and Atogwe for McNabb, according to NFL Network.
They cited the Philadelphia Enquirer.
Make me say hmmmmm….
Go ahead, Lambs.
Who is he going to throw it to? Then again, McNabb has rarely had a receiver worth a darn prior to Jackson’s arrival (and Maclin’s).
And when he had someone to throw it to he brought them to the Superbowl
Of course TO was the best in the league at that time… Obviously this would make the Rams better but it’s not like Marc Bulger was never a good QB… the Rams are so bad they took Bulger down with them.
