Ted Ginn Jr.
There has been recent talk of the Seahawks perhaps trying to trade down in the first round. John proposed an idea for a Brandon Marshall trade that involved the Seahawks trading their #6 and other pieces (Branch and picks) for Marshall and the Broncos #11.
I read today that the Dolphins are trying to trade Ted Ginn Jr. (and possibly their #12) in an effort to trade up. Apparently their eye is on CJ Spiller. So I was wondering if this is something the Hawks should get in on. Perhaps they could trade their #6 for Ginn and the Dolphins #12, with extra picks/players being added in on one side or the other to balance it out. I don't know where to find the information to value the players and the picks, so unfortunately I can't calculate this out myself. I noticed that the 'Fins also have a 3rd round pick, something the Seahawks happen to lack right now. Perhaps that could be included as well.
Gimme some feedback on this. Would this work? Might the Seahawks even consider this? Would you even want to see Ginn in teal and blue? With Burleson gone, Ginn could take over the punt return duties (though I know he has primarily returned kicks in the NFL, he has plenty of punt return experiences as well).
Anyways, just something that occurred to me as I was poking around the web today...
Look! A poll!

I thought Miami was desperate for Bryant at that spot
and that they are trying to get ahead of the Broncos.
That has probably changed now that they have Marshall
At least we aren't the Raiders?

It has
I can’t imagine us persuing Bryant now, though I would have loved to take a chance on the kid.
Now, Morgan says it very well right below me: Ginn sucks and is very expensive, indeed. Opposite Marshall, perhaps he puts something together and serves as the deep threat we envisioned him to be. He can still play ST quite well as a return guy, too.
I don’t see us wanting Spiller badly enough to mortgage the middle of our draft. If you’d take Ginn off our hands, as well as our first and maybe a 6th or two (or a 6th and 7th or something), I’m sure we’d consider it.
Heavily doubt you’d be willing to do so, though.

Ginn sucks and is very expensive.
He would be a poor free agent signing, and if Miami can get anything in trade for him, great for them.
Thanks!
This was precisely what I was trying to determine.
One other thought: he’s old, but what about signing Jason Taylor? At least to my knowledge, he doesn’t suck so much, and we just found out that the Hawks are down a OLB.

By the time the season comes around we'll have an average team age of 106
If we sign Taylor.
I’m not interested in rebuilding by signing/trading for busts and has-beens.
UFC is to Larry Fitzgerald as Strikeforce is to Plaxico Burress. One is the most dominant in their league, while the other shoots itself in the midst of progress.
Not interested, unless we're talking 12th pick, Ginn and a 3rd rounder.
Also, only if the price is too high for Marshall.

I wouldn't consider Ginn in any trade.
Plus, do we need flankers like him?

We would if Branch is moved.
Which I think quite likely.
Butler appears flanker-ish, but he’s very unpolished. I’m not expecting much out of him yet.
Wow.
Ted Ginn Jr. is fucking terrible. I can’t believe this is being discussed. I’d rather start Deon Butler.
It's Great to be a Florida Gator!
My draft hopes:
#6-Jimmy Clausen #14-Charles Brown #60-Brandon Marshall
He is a good returner but shouldn't be considered as anything more than that.

Ginn?
No. Unless Brian Russell can play for every opponent we face and cover him exclusively, he has no worth as a WR.
Early prospect watch: RB C.J. Spiller, QB Sam Bradford, OT Ciron Black*, DT Gerald McCoy, S Eric Berry, DT Ndamukong Suh, CB Ras-I Dowling**, RB Jonathan Dwyer
Steer clear of butterfingers.
To trade down or not to trade down? That is the question. The answer depends on who’s available at 6. If Gerald McCoy (or gasp Bradford) fell to 6 I’d love to take him, but if not I’d be fine with trading down. I’d be happy with Berry at 6 too.
I woudn't mind giving up a 5th or 6th for him
Now that Marshall’s in Miami. They’ll be desperate to offload him annd while I can’t see him contributing much offensively, giving up a late round pick for a return specialist seems like good business to me
What does that mean?
A team needs to carry four or five WR’s, at least (or more, considering the history of WR injuries up here).
That really was one of the stupidest draft moves of all time
If Quinn busted in Miami then so be it but there was a few clear choices and Ginn who was never a first round talent wasn’t it.
6 - Williams/Bulaga, 14 - Spiller, 60 - Houston make me something...something
