The Pete Carroll Connection Complete
As announced previously in this space, XFINITY from Comcast has generously agreed to support the best NFL community around -- us! As part of that effort, between now and the end of the 2010 NFL season XFINITY will be sponsoring a variety of special editorial and interactive features on our site. They begin today with the launch of the XFINITY HD War Room, your weekly destination for key draft insight and opinion. Welcome!

The college football universe is too large for one head coach to have first hand experience with more than a fraction of all NFL prospects. However, at the fringes, I doubt the reliability of NFL Draft Scouts' rankings. Not to say they are incorrect or not well reasoned, but they probably do not accurately reflect the players teams will draft in later rounds. Pete Carroll could add some PAC-10 flavor to day four. It's missing from much of the draft.

That's what I'm really hoping for
PC to have first hand knowledge of NDFAs and 6-7r’s. And James Rodgers next year.

XFINITY =
“We don’t have NFL Sunday Ticket or NFL Sunday Ticket HD, but we have a hi-tech sounding, cool name!”. “Well, we had to do _something!” "The cool name is reason alone to buy in to our misleading information about NFL content we carry! "
I should have listened to my elders. If you have nothing nice to say…
Alas, thanks for ‘sponsoring’ Field Gulls, Comcast. Now, please stop sending employees to canvas our neighborhood, soliciting over and over again trying to sell us on something we don’t want and have already discarded for a different and far superior product.
Admittedly, I do like their Internet service.

Early prospect watch: RB C.J. Spiller, QB Sam Bradford, OT Ciron Black*, DT Gerald McCoy, S Eric Berry, DT Ndamukong Suh, CB Ras-I Dowling**, RB Jonathan Dwyer
Because I still have Comcast, it's Verizon that's been hounding us for weeks.
One lady came to our door twice, apparently forgetting we told her “no” the first time.
BTW any chance of a schedule release thread? We’re playing the Saints Nov 21st at 1:05 PM in New Orleans.
The Seahawks have traded my signature to the Detroit Lions for a 6th round draft pick.
No FIOS in my area... :(
Thanks for the tip, though.

Giants @ Seattle for Nov 7th.
Not a bad birthday weekend game.

Thanks for taking the time to write this up, John.
Draft wise looking at the connection I’d love me some Syd’Quan.

Mmm... ads...
On a completely unrelated note, I’m really looking forward to Thursday so I can finally figure out who the (insert local team here) are going to draft. I’m sure I’ll be stopping by (insert blog here) to see what everybody else has to say about the picks!
OK John thanks for all this now bust the same series out, for the John Schneider connection, before Thursday night!
Is it ok to assume
that just because Pete didn’t play against or “recruit” a player, he could still have watched a lot of game tape on this player while deciding if he wanted to recruit them? Teams don’t bring in every player they watch tape on. Of course, this could four year old tape from their high schools, too.
