The consensus amongst fans and the media is that the Seahawks nailed this draft. I'm feeling really good about it and can't imagine where this team isn't better than last year's team. It helps when you have 2 first round picks (thanks Timmy!)
Anyway, you have to figure that a contributing factor to the success of this draft is that our personnel guy has spent the last few years coaching, coaching-against, watching, scouting, scheming etc many of the players who were eligible for this year's draft...including several of the players the Seahawks picked.
When next year's draft rolls around, Carroll will be familiar with some of the players but not with the same degree of familarity. He will be focused for most of this year with coaching and scouting pro-players to try to win NFL games. By the following year, he will not know the college players any better than the other coach/personnel guys in the league.
So this year's draft gives great reason to be optimistic about the future but is this as good as it gets? Are Carroll-Schneider hitmakers ala Jagger/Richards or one-hit-wonders ala Peaches and Herb?
