Seahawks looking to trade RB Jones
The National Football Post reports that Seattle tried to move Julius Jones during the draft, unsuccessfully. According to Mark Miller of Yahoo! Sports, he's still on the trading block.
What a shocker!

Does Jones have value?
His statistics with Seattle:
2008
158 rush, 698 yds (4.42 ypc), 2 TD, 4 fumbles / 14 rec, 66 yds, 0 TD
2009
177 rush, 663 yds (3.75 ypc), 2 TD, 0 fumbles / 35 rec, 232 yds, 2 TD
Age: 29 in August
Considering that Jones put up those numbers as part of an overall anemic offense (4.9 yds/play, 25th in the league), that looks respectable. Not starter-worthy, but good for a rotational back.
If Leon Washington is slow to recover from his injury, Seattle could still make use of Jones in their rotation.
On the other hand, the trade market is not likely to be lucrative. After a deep, rich draft, we’ll soon be moving into preseason roster cuts. There will be plenty of game-ready depth available for free.
I agree.
It’s hard to see a team taking Jones when so many players will be available via roster cuts.
Why is it Thomas Jones (brother of Julius) is able to keep on ticking while Julius seems to have little left in the tank?
Both of those answers make sense.
But it seemed like Marion Barber did fine with Dallas’ offensive line, and Forsett did better with our line than J. Jones did. He might work better with a better line, but he also should have performed better with the line we have.
It makes more sense for us to hang on to him while we see how Washington recovers
But honestly, the UFA RBs have more value than Jones. I don’t see us getting anything.

I'd be perfectly happy with a
Washington-Forsett-White backfield combo.
That said, I could stomach Jones for another year while we have no cap, too.
If Leon Washington went for a 5th rounder (I know he is coming off an injury)
what are we gonig to get for Jones? A 6th rounder?
Might as well just keep him in case some guys get hurt.
Remember a couple years ago Denver was down to their 6th or 7th stringers at RB? You can never have too many running backs.
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
Value is relative to the market.
Talents that I covet:
Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy, Sam Bradford, Mike Iupati, Golden Tate, Earl Thomas, and Freddie Barnes

That said, the market right now is dry.
