The Pats released Shawn Springs. I can’t think of any reason why he and Seattle would be a match, that is all.

3 years ago I would have loved to have him.
Good bye Big Walt.

Mike's work ethic must've sucked/not been better than Teel's.
Maxwell is a bigger WR too, I wonder how fast he is?

I say that tongue in cheek
because during his interview Carroll said work ethic was the first thing he looks at on film.
Not enough competition at QB, dammit!
I want 8 QBs on the roster this time next week!
Where's Ryan Leaf?
What’s he doing? What? “Time?”

I wonder what kind of money he got to come in for a couple weeks and then get waived?

Please check the fanshots section. We just signed JP Losman.

WR Marcus Maxwell.
40.5 vert, 3.91 shuttle, 6.57 3 cone, according to NFL draft scout.
Can’t find a reliable 40 time though. I’ve seen 4.41 and 4.51, neither of which said it was a pro day, a combine, or a made-up time.
In semi-related news,
Jameson Konz (he of the excellent hair and crazy vertical leap) is working out at TE now.
Thank you, Walter Jones.
I'm kind of disappointed that the team didn't give Reilly much of a chance.
Grand scheme of things, it probably doesn’t matter much, but it would have been nice to see the team at least run him through training camp.
So much for the hometown feelgood story
But in one year he’s been dumped by the Steelers, Packers, and Rams so…sometimes a shoe fits. Or doesn’t fit. Or some kinda analogy that means something to what I’m saying.

Yeah the guys like Romo are very few and very far between
I hoped his story could have gone that way for us.
Good bye Big Walt.

Not sure I like having three veterans at QB
While the price is right for Losman (1 year, $600K or so), I don’t really see an upside on having him on the roster compared to either Reilly or Teel. He’s 29, so it’s not as if we’re going to keep him around for long and even at his peak his numbers were not all that impressive. I’m of the opinion that we go in with three QB’s for the season: The starter, the backup, and the young project QB that probably won’t see any real playing time but gets to hang around and build experience until we see what he’s made of. That fits either Reilly or Teel. If Losman isn’t competing for the backup slot, then there’s no reason for him to be here.
It doesn't bother me.
It’s actually great insurance for this year, if Matt were to go down and Whitehurst underperforms greatly.
Golden!
