Seahawks Apparently Intrigued by BYU RB Unga.
It was hard for me not to make my title "Seattle Has the Hunga fo' Unga". Be thankful.
This isn't the combine, so the 40 times are hand-clocked, and it's all-in-all pretty orchestrated, but it didn't appear to go poorly. Rob Rang compares him to (take a breath) Leonard Weaver, and predicts he will go in the 5-7 round. Would YOU spend a 5th round pick on him next year, but this year? I would.
Unga measured in at 6-1, 244.
He ran a ~4.64 40, on a "sprained" ankle.
Benched 225, 19x.
High Jump was 35".
Here are his highlights. Christian rap for a BYU highlight reel? Makes sense...

Love to see him here.
Washington, Forsett, and Unga.
It's Great to be a Florida Gator!
What the french, toast?
I'm in
I would like to see if he can pass block. He would be a great compliment to Forsett. That would be a good young RB tandem for then next 6 plus years. If he does well in camp, trade JJ for a 5th and we just got young and didn’t lose anything.
I would fist pump repeatedly
if we could get a fifth for JJ.

Sure, I'd love to have him
at least at that price.

I liked Unga at BYU but oh my god he has zero acceleration.
And he appears to have negative acceleration after making a “cut”.
True, and am I the only one who think is cutting just looks "unnatural"?
For lack of a better adjective.
Defensive end.
I wonder what Najeh Davenport looked like in college. You’d have to think that’d be Unga’s upside.
Yeah, it's funny.
But still a dick move. “Hey, I’ve got a lot of natural talent at running with a piece of pig’s skin filled with air! Suck it, average person!”. Of course, it was certainly motivated by loud, annoying fans.
The announcers would just have to keep up with their enunciation for our games.
“Unger pulls, blocks for Unga.”
I woulda went with Phenomenon by Tobymac.
Looks a little raw
But with size and power like that, you don’t really need to make a lot of cuts. He seemed willing to make people miss instead of always bulling forward where there’s nothing to gain. Against the likes of Western Mother Teresa State – looks like highlights from an SEC team, same level of competition…
Lynch without the douchery? And younger? Worth a 5th, to be sure.
Honor code violation at Choirboy U?
I like him better already.
Watching Unga's highlights was a bit underwhelming (especially given the level of competition)
Didn’t look especially quick to accelerate or hold his speed through cuts, kind of stiff, kind of lumbering. Actually reminded me a bit of a less agile Dr. Dan Doornink. Oh boy, does that make me feel old. Of course I was there screaming my head off in the ’Dome on that famous December ’84 wild-card crushing of the hated division rival the Los Angeles Raiders, when Dan went off out of nowhere for 123 yards on 27 carries. Ah, the memories…
Can he pass block or receive at all?

We could have drafted Charles Scott or Jonathan Dwyer in rounds 5+ this year already.
Or Anthony Dixon. Unga is not a better prospect than any of those three.
Red Bryant: surprise us!
He doesn't have to be. He just has to be better than some RB on our roster.
Maybe one that just got arrested for DUI…
