The newest member of Pete Carroll's Expendables paid back 25% of the 2010 portion of his signing bonus to facilitate a trade to Seattle. Balmer's $800,000 in future guaranteed salaries are still intact and (presumably) picked up by the Seahawks. His exact motivation for wanting out is still unknown, but it does indicate that he does want to play, just not for the 49ers.
