Seahawks sign Brandon Jones, release Mike Hass
Brandon Jones was released by the 49ers after signing a 5 year, 16 million contract a year ago. After getting injured in training camp that year he never contributed. Injuries seem to be the story of his career.
There goes Mike Hass again.

I have a hard time envisioning him making the 53-man roster
Unless traded, Housh is a lock to make the roster. Same goes for Branch, Butler and Tate. Mike Williams has played very well and I don’t see him being cut. Obomanu brings a hell of a lot on special teams and he’s had a good camp/preseason. So unless we plan on retaining 7 receivers I don’t see room for him to make it.

I agree with this.
Unless we trade one of the guys you mentioned, I don’t see him making the roster. And if we trade that player for another receiver….well, we don’t need him either.
Informant, as Misfit74 said, is right. Also, camp fodder. Unless he shows himself as an excellent gunner and kick returner, he’s not going to beat anyone in our top 6.
Not saying he'll make the team
But Brandon Jones showed plenty of promise in camp & practice with the ‘9ers, when healthy. The main problem for him in SF was his health. He went down last year at a crucial point in the preseason, and it happened again this year. I’m sort of surprised he didn’t try to latch on in Minny, where they are seriously lacking in quality WRs right now.
But, if Brandon is healthy, I think he has an outside shot. He’s big, strong, fast, and he has great hands.

Bye-bye Mr. Hass.
You wouldn’t have made the team anyway. Brandon Jones: informant. ;)
Red Bryant: surprise us!
And so continues Carroll/Schneider's quest for the tallest WR corps in the NFL.
Adding VJax should seal the deal:
Jones – 6’2"
Housh – 6’2"
Williams – 6’5"
VJax – 6’5"

We still need to include the short guys if they're on the roster.
What about Branch and Butler?
Unless we get VJax, I think we’re still behind San Diego. And maybe even if we DO get VJax.
He's short and hence easy to miss.
Matt is accurate thankfully.

And notice how amazing their passing game is.
Yeah, yeah, I know Rodgers is good… but tall WR’s continue to dominate this league. Not really a surprise, but I’m amazed how often bringing in a tall, rangy WR helps push an offense over the top. See: 2005 Seattle Seahawks.
Well, between Bates, PC, and Schneider, the tall WR is getting plenty of love here.
Wait till we get through a few drafts. I think we’ll be quite happy with the height we end up with at WR.
Jones
Jones has options, he had offers from Minnesota and Oakland. Can’t see him signing with the Hawks if he wasn’t sure he was going to make the team.
That means, IMHO, either Branch gets cut or Housh gets traded for defense.
Go 'Hawks.
Interesting perspective
Didn’t think of that. I guess we’ll see. Although I would find it funny that suddenly out of nowhere, on a team that the HC has been preaching over and over again how no one is safe and that competition is everything, a guy who wasn’t even here and has accomplished nothing in the last 2 years is suddenly guaranteed a roster spot.

He can be sure all he likes, but that doesn't mean that he's making the team.

Housh for Asomugha, Leon Hall, or Johnathan Joseph.
Screw Revis and his 162-million-dollar 10-year contract demands.
Red Bryant: surprise us!
Hass could make history
He has to be on the verge of setting some kind of record for most times being released by one team, which I think is currently held by Don Dufek (for those who are old enough to remember).

I wonder what being a Seahawk/NFL will be like in 25 years...
The concept of following the Hawks that long is alien to me, much less following since their genesis.
