A Sampling of Comments from the NFL Game Center Discussion Boards
I just noticed that NFL.com has dedicated discussion threads for each preseason game.
What a great idea.
"a tip for the seahawks.......... go for #4 at least once ...... they will pull him like a baby in a candy isle."Babies are pulled into taffy on the nightmarish Candy Isle.
"colts were good the last year now not!!!!!! They lose they 2 first games, the second one against Buffalo please"
"Wats uo thihikitty!!!!!! it's the "BATTLE OF THE BAY" this week!!!! ther is a 49GAYER bar in PB i'll be in there this week for the game baby!!!! and oh yes i'll be the one wear SILVER & BLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!! get ready for this azzzzzz kicking this week 49scrubs!!!!!!!!!!"
Further evidence that there is a direct correlation between literacy and the ratio of words to exclamation points. Also, our second commenter wants to make sure he stands out at the 49GAYER bar he will be attending this week. He's the one wear silver and black.
"I'm a 50-year dedicated Cowboys fan who lives 11 miles from Houston's Reliant Stadium. Best of both worlds. lol!"
That likes good food, long walks on the beach and Sundays spent indoors."
"ALL U RAIDERETS STOP HATING WE WILL STOMP U ON SAT N U BEFOREMATH U SHOULD JUST CHILL U WILL COLLAPSE LIKE ALWAYS AL WILL DO SOMETHING STUPID AGAIN"
Seven years of Raider football condensed into one comment.
"How do I think the Dolphins are going to win? By scoring more touchdowns and kicking more field goals to have a higher score."
Analysis worthy Curt Menefee.

I reserved your book using the Sno-Isle library hold system
Little did I know 6 were ahead of me on the hold list for 1 available copy.
Toronto FC - Where road games are forfeited and we STILL have no idea how to play from behind.
My eyes are bleeding reading those comments.
And I’ve seen worse.
Toronto FC - Where road games are forfeited and we STILL have no idea how to play from behind.
I can’t comprehend…
…the thought process that goes into those comments.
I’ve made the mistake of reading the comments on Sando’s blog it physically hurts.
What’s more amazing to me is that they all seem to understand one another.
Tonto, Tarzan, and Frankenstein are the Algonquin Round Table in comparison.
HAhaha
Most of us are in what’s called the Trash Talking Circle. It’s over the top ridiculousness left and right. Don’t come to us for things like “perspective” and “football insight”, it’s just trash talk

SBN is one of the few sites where most of the commenters seem to be pretty intelligent.
Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan [I have always lived in Arizona, dad is from Chicago].
I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.
I have perused other SB Nation sites
and must say that the regular Field Gulls readership is by far the most astute and well spoken of the blogs that I have seen. Reading the comments above further reinforces my opinions on this and makes me very thankful for this particular site… Thanks for the leadership Senor Morgan!
Not true for Sando.
He puts out good content, and the audience is not much better.
Only Problem is his content is on ESPN.com
and ESPN.com commenters are about as smart as trees.

Please do not insult trees
They are gentle giants and weep at the comparison to an ESPN commenter.

Indeed, they are both wise and deliberate.

These ESPN commenters are most hasty.
Thank you, Walter Jones.
Thank you, Ken Griffey Jr.

I just came
Merely at the suggestion of such a collaboration.
I'm sure he'd love the pay raise.
Wait, what?!?!?

That's what I took it to mean.
My family will be at that game. Pretty sure we’re the only Seahawk fans in the Midwest. The Vikings are absolutely HATED at my parents’ house

That is why I lurk here and nowhere else.
Oh, wait…I just blew my cover. Seriously though, this place is amazing.

Sometimes I get annoyed by the grammer and style police on Field Gulls
However, this post just sold me on you noble Police men and women. Police away, and many thanks for stopping this from becoming a DERP DE DERP -athon.
Now that you mention it...
there is a striking lack of acronyms in these comments.
Though they sink through the Sea, they shall rise again...Death shall have no dominion...
It's not a representative sample.
John wouldn’t be that cruel to us.
This post needs to be weekly.
That would make me so happy and amused.
