Leroy Hill agrees to restructured contract
LB Leroy Hill agreed to a pay cut from 6.125 million to 2 million for this year, in a contract in which the remaining years of his previous contract are "wiped out" so that he becomes an unrestricted free agent next year.
His contract was voidable after the first two years anyway, so in a way the Seahawks took the option to void it and Hill takes a paycut.

Would doubt that he would be trade bait...
With the depth and injury situation at LB. But I think this works great for the Hawks.
He should be glad he's got a paycheck and a team.
2+ million dollar is still a lot.
This is no big loss. He hasn’t been terribly effective (or healthy) for a few seasons now. We’ve got young, up-and-coming guys that should adequately fill his shoes.

I'm hopeful he pulls himself together on and off the field.
He was a pretty effective blitzer his first couple seasons; anyone else a little surprised they haven’t tried him as the Leo?
Thank you, Walter Jones.
Thank you, Ken Griffey Jr.
He's hurt?
Also, he’s gotta worry about winning a linebacker spot. If he finishes losing his spot to Hawthorne this season, they might put him in Curry’s position to blitz, and possibly work him into the Leo position.
Not that I know of; he had hurt his knee but I think he's better now.
But he seemed ineffectual when he was playing last year.
Thank you, Walter Jones.
Thank you, Ken Griffey Jr.
That feels like a fill in the blank

Yeah, that's about it

The older I get, the more I appreciate those teams that don't allow players of such low character.
I used to be all about fielding the most talented team. Now, I didn’t much like looking at the guy, to the point that it starts to affect my enjoyment of the team. I’d be more than happy if they just dropped the SOB altogether, but cutting his salary is a good start.
Good move by the team.
And pretty fair to Hill, too, there’s reason for him to like this deal. About as much as he could hope to make anywhere else, about as much of a role he could hope to find. A new contract year. Without the tarnish of having been cut.
It’s good to have a few guys in a contract year. Trufant 2007. Remember when we had 16 free agents? That worked out well.
Trade bait, seconded.
For some starting Oline help.
Marshawn Lynch?!?
Is that idea dead in water, or could this be a possibility at this point? CJ Spiller is clearly the guy over there..
Ka-Kaaa!
Pretty sure he's injured right now.

Why deal for a back
when we have such holes on the lines?

We got out of his (expensive) deal without losing him.
I like it, but it surely means he’ll be with another team next season, though that’s obviously not guaranteed; it’s certainly probable.
Red Bryant: surprise us!
