Ravens are seeking trades to upgrade at multiple positions.
Willis McGahee-RB- Ravens Aug. 31 - 2:39 pm et
GM Ozzie Newsome has "made it perfectly clear" that the Ravens are seeking trades to upgrade at multiple positions. Cornerback and offensive line are the obvious trouble spots, and the Baltimore Sun's Mike Preston speculates that Newsome could try to pick up a fullback as well. If the Ravens move Willis McGahee, Le'Ron McClain will have to double as Ray Rice's primary backup. We remain skeptical that McGahee will be dealt. Source: Baltimore Sun / Rotoworld

I'm thinking Owen Schmitt in a deal for Willis McGahee. RB help is needed and I think McGahee would give us at least one or two seasons and also be a good fit for our offensive scheme. He's still a good player, if an expensive one. Even a one-year rental would be worth it not to field Julius Jones or Quinton Ganther in various offensive situations. Can we really trust what we have? Heck, give them Babineaux, too.

Correct me if I'm wrong....
but isn’t he slow and old?

No he is not. McGahee is 28 years old and only 2 years removed from a pro bowl year. Go watch some highlights and you will see he can still bring it. No doubt in my mind that he can still be a 1,000 yard rusher in the NFL.
No.
5.0 yards per carry and 14 TDs last season. Who, exactly, on our team has even a remote chance of rushing for double-digit touchdowns?
McGahee has enough left in the tank to make a difference for our team – even as a complimentary player to what we have. He certainly upgrades at least two of our current RBs (Ganther, Jones).
Red Bryant: surprise us!
