The money quote: " If it weren't for the fact that the Eagles traded away Chris Clemons and a fourth-round pick for him, Darryl Tapp could be hitting the pavement. He hasn't done much in camp or in the preseason. The team recently added Pannel Egboh to the mix, but Tapp appears to be the fifth of five ends." I gotta say I'm shocked by this. Like most people here, I thought Tapp was about to tear it up, and that we shouldn't give up one of our most talented defensemen. But wow, if he's barely going to make it as a backup on a team that had a legit defense last season, I may be severely overvaluing him due to the naive thinking that a starter on our team should compare favorably with players around the league and demand compensation comparable to other starters on other teams when traded.
