After regular practice finished, Deion Branch took Golden Tate through extra drills "aimed to work on breaking press coverage and then improve conditioning by sprinting uphill".
"The way I see it, being active or inactive is up to me," Tate said earlier. "It’s not up to somebody being injured or not playing well, it’s up to me to practice hard and do everything right, to show the coaches I deserve to be out there. How I practice these next days is what will determine whether I deserve it or not."

Gotta love that.
Kinda odd that he would work with Deion and not an actual corner or run routes with Matt though.
He works with corners and QBs in regular practice
You learn different things from different players. It works.

He looks like he's going to sock Branch in the gut.

I would go for a little lower, that would break any press coverage
The one thing that worries me about Golden is his beard… its subpar… I think he could learn from Braylon Edwards minus the DWI
Fade routes to Deion Branch only work against Kelly Jennings

No, not odd at all.
Getting advice on how to beat press coverage from a WR is probably more valuable than getting advice on how to beat press coverage from a CB.

Getting advice from and practicing against are two different things.
I’m not saying it’s not helpful, just struck me as kind of different.
well,
what is a CB other than a WR with bad hands?

I hate it when people say that.
Then again, I do play corner, so…
Eddie Izzard ran 43 marathons in 51 days with 5 weeks of training. What's stopping you?
I second the notion
O how I long to feel the electricity of Qwest again. How I yearn for the mélee of the boisterous throng [pause]. The feel of her cold winds upon my brow as I glare, eyes narrow & stoic upon the gridiron, my team ever faithful vying for triumph, my cruel mistress leaves me intoxicated with her nostalgic allure.
I also would love to punch a Cardinals fan in the face…

I'm loving the 90 degree heat and 90 percent humidity in FL
Plus being around the SEC is great.
I need to learn how to do that sarcasm font.
You guys are making me
sooo damned homesick I can’t hardly stand it. Enough already.
Everything I see from Tate makes me like him
Yeah, even the maple bars. Cuz I mean.. maple bars.
coming from a donut-impoverished place like Indiana...
I mean really. Whacha wanna brother 2 do?

Kudos to Tate for having such a good work ethic.
And Kudos to Branch for being out there helping out the rookie. There is nothing not to like about this.
And Kudos to Seahawks.com for selling the Tate
I like the “new” Seahawks.com, a lot of little adds on that make it fun to check.
Asked the question before I could
When I saw the image, I thought of getting it for my laptop background. Hmm
Don't think so
at least not big enough for a desktop. I got it from here

Tate's interview today just sealed his place as my new favorite Hawk
Heard him on 710 tell a story about eating at Daniel’s while a table nearby talked shit about the team. Kind of a standard athlete overhears smack story but he was hilarious.
Oh… and he can ball too.
Is Golden Tate known to struggle on Press Coverage?
If so, he will want to avoid lining up in front of Quentin Jammer. He’s one of the best press corners in the game. He’s been so for quite some time now. He frequently drives a receiver 3 yards out of bounds or into another receiver in the slot. He’s tough…

Not in college, he didn't
But at the pro level, there are nuances in beating press coverage that he probably didn’t need to learn at the college level.

And now he's doing it again
Golden Tate. Practice was over, but the team’s second-round draft choice wasn’t finished. Tate stayed out to work on some of the finer points of running routes with wide receivers coach Kippy Brown.
Kid’s insatiable.
