Cards cut Leinart, Losman rumored out, lots of USC connections...

Kind of wondered about Leinart earlier in the year with Seneca gone and Carroll in, but now with reports of Losman going out, with Leinart being officially cut, and so many USC connections, I'm wondering again, and I freaking hate Leinart. If Carroll thinks he's worth the gamble, I guess I'll grin and bear it, and hope that Whitehurst beats him out when Matt goes down, but the thought of seeing him in blue makes me gag.

If we signed Leinart, would we have to take on his entire contract?

Because if not, I’d say he’s worth signing just to get some insight into AZ’s playbook. Might help our defense pick up some plays and tendencies not found on game film.

No. Once he was cut the contract was moot.

That’s why no team wanted to trade for him. He was due 2.5 mil this season and about 12 mil next season.

Someone is going to give him a shot

and although I would also be sickened by seeing him in blue, in my opinion, he has at least shown himself to be a competent QB. Compare Losman’s preseason campaign to that of Leinart. If we are going to carry 3 QB’s, I’d say he is a solid choice and a nice upgrade.
