Nate Davis to be released.
Thought he looked good in the pre-season, seems like it would be a good pick-up.

Nate Davis was in the Doghouse apparently
Sing didn’t like his offseason work ethic. He tried to make up for the time he lost out on by working his “tail-off” during OTAs & Training Camp. I guess it wasn’t enough to keep Nate on the team, instead we go out and sign Troy Smith? Complaints were that Nate Davis was missing the protection calls at the line of scrimmage during the preseason.
I don’t see what the Org feels they’re gaining by releasing him? 3rd string QB, potential upside, and the growing pains were expected since Nate has a learning disability. Is that not the very definition of project QB.
I hope he has better luck in Seattle.
1. Pat Devlin QB 2. Jack Crawford DE/OLB 3. Kendric Burney CB 4. DeAndre Brown WR 4. K.J Wright OLB 5. John Estes C 6. Brandon Saine RB 6. Chris Hairston OT 7. Demarlo Belcher WR 7. Julian Posey CB
Doubt we sign him.

For longer than an hour or two.
Thanks for the info.
We haven’t picked him up though. I wonder if some of his struggles with protection calls and what not had to do with his learning disability, maybe he needs one of the lineman to make the calls or something. I think Seneca Wallace had the same issue, took him a few years to really get comfortable in the offense.
Anything against us from grabbing two qbs for the p.s.?
I don’t know how it works for practice squad players, but let’s let him compete with Robinson.
Niners picked up Troy Smith
I would rather have had him than Nate Davis.
We certainly don’t need Davis.
