Vickerson signs with Broncos
Look on the bright side folks, I'm sure their preference was (sigh) Junior Siavii

Chronic Injury in addition
I think big Vick was also having a chronic injury problem… maybe why the Titans parted ways to begin with and Vick could not stay on the field for us. Reading up on Siavii he is suppose to be quick and agile…

But then Siavii was a backup nose tackle in a 3-4 i think?
So, hmmm.

Hybrid 4-3 for our D-fense
He will be backing up Cole and he is alligned as a Nose Tackle usually. I dont see Vick filling the role of a Nose Tackle…. Maybe a Red Bryant Mammoth 5 tech.

Siavii is more like Cole
More of an NT than Vickerson. Still bummed about Vickerson. Anyone with any real info about Vickerson’s supposed injury and/or attitude problems, please post!

Vickerson couldn’t practice during many of the OTAs because of his knee. I know it was somewhat reported, because when we traded for him we had to wait for it to heal. When he did get to training camp I was attending the practice where he tweaked it on the second to last play, and after limping off, had to be helped around. He didn’t miss the next day though. It seems he’s been held out of practices off and on due to it, but it’s been underreported, and when we do see him it hasn’t seemed debilitating.
Since his rookie year was lost due to an ACL injury he had in preseason against the Alex Gibbs Falcons offensive line, he hasn’t had a lot of NFL time. The fact that in 2005 he had this injury, and if assumptions are correct reinjury (small or large) is still affecting him in 2010, one wonders how big of a part of the Seahawks future Vickerson could have. But we still could/should have been able to take this full season to find out.
No attitude problems in my short web search.
And the previous subject line was me stating “rec’d for asking for real info” in the midst of all the rumors.
Bummer.
I was liking Vickerson. He seemed to get better push into the backfield on passing downs. Something that Cole has pretty conclusively proved that he’s unable to do.

Agreed. I thought he played quite well, and expected him to replace Cole as a starter
Must be some other stuff going on (e.g. lack of buy-in, loyalty, injury trends) shrug I was looking forward to Vickerson and Mebane in the middle disrupting the line and helping our weak pass rush from the outside.
In my fledgling, less-knowledgeable draftnik days, I was kind of high on Junior Siavii. Seems like another Colin Cole, but probably with less personality.
Because who can compete with Colin on that?
Agree. I've read some comments about the guy, and he seems like a Cole clone
Essentially: Stout against the run, unable to push into the backfield during passing downs
